I had to go with a shorter filter due to headers. I get the MOPAR filters; but are SAME common type as say FRAM. I change the oil every spring and I think the most miles I've ever driven before a change has been around 1500 miles. If I had the luxury of shorter winters, I'd be more fussy though.
I’d give a check to your acquired drag-racing routine, if you have an automatic knowing the auto-generated shift points. You run leaving the auto do its job, or manually shift? Do you set on the brake pedal in gear, say at or near like 2000 or so, at the line? Optimal thrust may not happen...
dvw, looks as though you got handling your Plymouth down to a science. You should start an instruction class for some guys who own hellcats – who can’t avoid smashing them up, lol
When I had my GTO, I worked evenings at a machine shop getting off of work at 10PM and would take a cruise through our town before heading home. At that time the town was pretty much locked down very little traffic. Well, for a span of a couple weeks, when I’d get to one of the first...
Off the rails a bit; but your speed-shifting comment reminds me of a hot summer night sitting with some car buds in a parking lot in ’71. Every so often guys would come from da city to want to race. This night up drives a gorgeous brand new Challenger with the window sticker on and a dealer...
Coming from a family with several Pontiacs including 5 GTO's and '63 GP tri-power that I took my driver's test in (1st car I bought was a '67 GTO) I have a never ending affection for them. Much as I'm a mopar guy, there's an ultra-thin line btw my like of the GTO's and mopars.
Yeah been a hoot with my eyesight not needing any glasses most of the time now after 4 decades. Bought a pair of non-script sunglasses last year never thought I’d need. Doc had a hassle getting me in my latest script. My 1st go around was weird driving home! The steering wheel and dash...
My eyes have changed a lot the past few years; started wearing script in my early 20's for distance then later bifocals. Then for years now the bifocal correction was for chit taking them off for close viewing. Now I rarely wear glasses at all except for driving. Most recent script dropping...
Sad to hear, this began decades ago with subdivision sprawl - hell even a few golf courses have been razed for homes, and a 36 hole course not far from me is being taken out for...yep, more homes. Some years ago, a circle track was taken out cuz the area residents who built their homes around...
Was great reading through the posts. In '95 I bought a '63 Ply vert from CA. The 318 ran so strong for so many years that kept me from doing any major work on it. I put on a 4bbl, elect ignition, dual exhaust, shift kit, '65 Coronet axle/housing, 3:23 sure grip and it woke it up some. Come...
Lol - I could answer this since I'm 65. Luckily I'm still pretty capable despite my old bad habits, three surgeries from injuries, and do some things my wife tells me I shouldn't do anymore. Just never could sit around much, it drives me friggin crazy if I'm not doing something productive. My...
Lol, if ya already made up your mind why ask for opinions? A buddy has a blue car with the added hood scoop and spoiler painted black. I've mentioned in passing it would look nicer if they matched the car color.. then he said shove it up yer ***. A year later he's now saying he thinks it...
Looks like the coveted push button setup some of the legendary dragger's had back in the day? I have PB in my '63 Plymouth - only automatic I would have in my old ride, lot's of fun using the typewriter drive or punch box as others called it as I do cherish a good old 4 speed missing it.
