    Lowering front leaf spring location.

Hi, Steve! I don't know if you remedied this or not. When I owned that car, I knew for a fact the rear springs had sagged, badly. I'd recommend re-arching them or replacing them. As it was only a 318 car from the factory, it doesn't have the heavier springs like the 440, Hemi or Track Pak cars...

    Not getting a good vibe

Just on a hunch... and it's only a hunch.... Check your firing order on the spark plug wires. I had a car do this and #5 and #7 were crossed up. Shook the bejeezus out of the car.

    Low reading gas guage

Not only does it have a new sending unit, it has been upgraded to 3/8" fuel line.... just in case there's a need for more fuel in the future. :)

Computer Aided Design Program (CAD) recommendation?

Thanks! I used the Solid Edge 3D modeling software and the Keyshot5 rendering software. This stuff is the bomb!

    Help with 440/purpleshaft/Holley

These are a great addition to your toolbox. No need for timing tape or "guessing" where the 35° mark should be. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-advanced-timing-light/p-00914065000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

Computer Aided Design Program (CAD) recommendation?

I use Solid Edge. Although it is quite expensive, it does some crazily awesome stuff...

    Help with 440/purpleshaft/Holley

There are two springs in the distributor for the advance weights. I remove the heavy one and just run the single light spring.

    Help with 440/purpleshaft/Holley

You didn't say whether or not you had the exhaust crossover blocked off under the intake. Mine is blocked off and I had to compensate by increasing the primary jet sizes to accommodate. Yes, I do run with my vacuum advance disconnected and I removed the heavy mechanical advance spring and...

Move Steering Box for more room

dvw, I'm not doubting your experience, and I am always open to learning new things. I'd like to discuss this a bit more in depth (my mind keeps telling me the angles are going to be affected, but I'd like my eyes & ears to prove it wrong). If you move the steering box (along the same plane as...

Move Steering Box for more room

The problem you will run into when moving the steering box is that it will no longer drive the drag link from the proper angle. Keep in mind, the pitman arm and the idler arm work in unison as the drag link moves from side to side. If you alter one of the pivot points (steering box with pitman...

    need your opinions

Just as an FYI, Total time from the engine/trans on the floor to the headers installed on my Road Runner was an hour and a half. That included shifter, clutch linkage, driveshaft, starter and headers. I have yet to install radiator, hoses etc. Granted, I'd done it a few times before and had all...

    need your opinions

67 Mopar, I like what you did there. That's a pretty slick deal.... but what if you want to move the car while the engine is out? Say you wanna take it to the car wash and blast the everliving dog snot out of the engine bay. I've found it's easier to move them around if they still have the front...

    need your opinions

Here's how it went in from the floor to the header installation..... Pretty straight forward, even without an engine tilter.

    Carb for 273

The problem you are going to have replacing a Carter BBD is the fact that there are very few carbs that will bolt to that manifold. A typical Holley or OE Stromberg will not fit that little mounting pattern. The carbs that DO fit it will not afford you enough performance increase to make the...

    Fuel tank/sending unit

Your car will have 5/16" line. Try www.rockauto.com Fuel tank is this number: FTK010092 @ $94.79 ea. 5/16" fuel sender is this number: FSU010143 @ $59.79 ea. I just ordered and installed this same tank back in June. Fit perfectly and shipped via UPS with no issues. Edit: don't lose...

'383' Stock Intake Manifolds vs. Edelbrock Performer

I'm thinking that until that engine loses it's stock exhaust manifolds, you won't see much improvement with another intake manifold. The stock 335hp setup was very well balanced between the intake and exhaust and cam and simply swapping an intake probably won't gain much over the factory offering.
