You could fix it but it would be tricky. You would have to grind/mill the jaws to increase the depth of the overlap. I have a Chinese made no-name air flanger and it is the correct depth. I agree maybe yours was designed for HVAC duct work.
IMO, I like it inside where the air is driest with lots of airflow around it for cooling. I've thought about putting it up in the storage area but there's less airflow up there and in the summer it would be hotter, plus I probably wouldn't drain it as often.
I have an Ingersol Rand 5HP upright but it takes alot of room. When I redid the floor in my house I spent $50 on a "5HP Craftsman" 110 volt oilless with about a 20 gallon tank. It didn't pump much air but I spent $20 on a new compressor piston ring and it worked great after that. If I needed a...
This stuff is hard as a rock now. I used my air chisel last year on the 68 Charger. easiest time ever doing that ugly job. I've used a hammer and wood chisel too, way less cleanup than the torch method.
Something else to consider with that small compressor would be finding a used tank (bigger the better) to charge up a day or so before. Once that little compressor starts running while painting it's going to heat up and not keep up. If you have lots of air stored before you start it will help a...
I bought that very tool and it works great. I find it takes a bit of time setting everything due to not having a pit, the results work great. I used ceramic flooring tiles for plates.
I like the old and the new stuff. I use my tools until they can't be used anymore and some of them are 50 years old. I generally don't go looking for them though. I did buy a 50 year old table saw last year but I like the rack and pinion fence on my Dewalt alot better and it's a lot handier to...
