I don't know. That's a good question and one I was wondering myself. Maybe it has to do with quantity made instead of quality. As stupid as it sounds, that could be it. Yeah I read all the stuff on the backyard buddy too. American steel, American welds, American electrical components. The...

I didnt see any prices listed for the backyard buddy. They look good too. Also though, keep in mind backyard buddy lifts are not certified. They are made strictly for the DIY home hobbiest. Walk in most any automotive shop in the country and you seen Bend Pak or another common certified brand...

They sell 2 kinds......at least here they do. I bet what you got is the "vapor friendly" version (thanks EPA insert eye roll here). Usually, the REAL stuff is like 7 bucks a gallon. Our local Ace Hardware here is real good about runnin it on special when spring comes cause of all the painters...

    Any thoughts on this welder??

I try to advise people lookin for a welder to look for a high percentage duty cycle. That USUALLY indicatates a good transformer. I agree about the China stuff. I try to steer clear of electrical products from there. It's not all bad, but the thing is, it's so inconsistant you just don't know...

    Any thoughts on this welder??

We had one. The transformer went bad in it and they sent a whole new welder to replace it. It's made in China, but it did a pretty good job. We actually ended up selling it because we no longer do fab work but it's still goin strong.

    Opinions on Parts washer fluid.

I've tried the enviro stuff before I switched to mineral spirits. It DOES work and it works GOOD........for a short period. The problem with it is that it does not mix with grease and oil. It gets saturated and stops working after a short time. That's too bad too, because I would continue to use...

They tell you it will, but I've had mineral spirits in mine 10 plus years and it's still kickin. Oh and don't get the "vapor friendly" mineral spirits. If it's not the kind that'll make you have two headed babies, it's not worth a ****. - - - Updated - - - You'll not want to leave the lid...
