Road course/auto cross tires on 15" rim

Adapters aren't great but you have a lot of backspace so maybe ok for a few autox runs. I wouldn't run them on a road course. Drag radials have a good amount of sidewall flex, and I don't know of any 15" tires that would be optimal for corners that come in a typical muscle car size but if you...

Road course/auto cross tires on 15" rim

Yes 17" is the sweet spot, 15" exists mainly for spec Miata and small momentum cars like it so you will be limited on section width for rear tires on a high horsepower car.

Road course/auto cross tires on 15" rim

My favorite track day tire (road course) is the Toyo R1R, it is 200 tread wear so can run on the street. The Toyo RR is like the Hoosier r7. Toyo has several 15" options.

    Trying for some cheap steelies.

I use a crown Vic wheel as a spare on a 70 b body, I'm sure there are millions of steel wheels from them in your local junkyard.

Torq Thrust D rims and backspace? (sorry, I had to)

I ran 255 on 17x8 with 67 GTX stock spring location. The 7" rim may pinch and distort the side wall where it may rub. an 8" rim fits the 255 tire width better. Need to run the 8"

    Why BF Goodrich

raised white letters. And they look right on 15" wheels. And wear like iron and last for decades.

Can you fit 255 60 15's up front?

    255 all around fits 66-70

Brakes, wheels and tires. What combination???

I run 235/70 R15 on the front of a 70RR with 15x7 rims, 275/60 R15 with 15x8 rims. On a 67 GTX I have 255/50 R17 all around, and have swapped this set onto both cars. The 17" rims big benefit is it really opens up the tire choices. I prefer rallyes and magnum 500's on the 68-70 B bodies, just...

Brakes, wheels and tires. What combination???

I would just replace the stock 10" parts including shoes. With a front brake conversion to disc there is less of a need to upgrade the back. Be careful of where you get your 10" brake parts. I got mine from classic and ended up with bad parts, had to re-use the retainer spring on both sides...

    MT 295/65/15s

those look proper. If you stuff a 295 on an 8" wheel you will not have a 295mm wide contact patch. I have a 275 on an 8" and it is as wide as my 255's on an 8". You lose width in the bulged sidewalls.

    14"s gotta go

I would go with 17" black steels in the back and 15" up front. 17" gives you the ability to run wide modern sticky tires like Toyo r1r. 15's look better on the front and you can still get tires like the r1r in a 235 wide 15" tire. That's how I am going.

    Help with Magnum 500 Purchase

I got a 15" set off ebay from a '68 for the same price, had BFG's mounted...I had looked for a year, almost bought new reproductions but got lucky. The ones I have do say "Magnum 500" on the center caps with crossed checkered flags. Seller claimed they were from 68 sport satellite, but I...
