Thanks for the responses, I'm going to look into more downspouts (nice house, mike!) that is the best way to go. Not due for roof yet but will use the storm guard for that job as suggested.
Just askin! But yes that is a good point. May just take the gutter down but foundations are trouble down in TX because of the clay soil. We have to water our foundations here, but not during a storm!
I'm looking to protect the roof rake/soffits on a garage from water damage, there is a gutter that sometimes overflows in very heavy rainfall and the moisture can find it's way to the wood. I found a product from GAF called storm guard, it is a peel and stick underlayment meant to protect from...
A side benefit of the handheld torch: burning critters. My old GTX was full of brown recluse spiders and nests in the underside from sitting for about 20 years before I got it, the benzomatic came in handy for roasting them out of existence.
The benzomatics are pretty good quality for the price. I've been using mine for several years and hold up well. Comes in handy for rusted parts like seized brake drums and stuck torsion bars. I like the modular torch system you can just swap cylinders for different gases for higher temp...

It's 19.2V lithium ion cordless. I am standardized on 19.2V craftsman stuff now so that I can interchange batteries. It will remove crankshaft bolts with ease. It definitely has its limits versus a pneumatic...
I like the craftsman electric impact, I use it all the time to change tires, remove crank bolts, loosen rusty bolts. It's stout and I don't need an air compressor.
I work in the chemical industry and have had first hand experience with phosgene. A colleague was working in the fume hood next to me with phosgene which he was using as a reagent. He accidentally breathed it in while transferring to a gas-tight vessel and was instantly knocked to the ground...
harbor freight
The harbor freight 2000lb stand is very good for the money. The others from HF are junk, but I think the 2k rated one is good quality for 100 bucks.
