Disc brakes are NOT better than drums. period! The only thing they are good at is heat dissipation on repeated hard braking events. But for braking force and efficiency drum brakes rule! This is a matter of clamping force on discs being so high for braking to occur, whereas drum brakes use FAR...

How did you make sure the drums were still balanced? Did you do that afterwards? And if so, HOW?

I showed this to one of my mechanic mates who is a top machinist, we are going to give this a go..Will do it over winter though. So will report back some time in the future.

Based on the rear photo, they look to be cheap knock offs of a centerline wheel.
