As someone who drives old iron year round in the Canadian north if you want to protect the underside then you can do what I do....brush everything with oil, and squirt oil inside the frame rails, inside the trunk extensions etc. I do this to my old crewcab, and even with all the harsh chemicals...
If you are looking at the Fender Tag then along the bottom row you would want to see "73" which is for the 426 Hemi, and the next number beside it should be either a "3" for 4spd, or "5" for an auto.
Me personally I'd just clean them up with a small file, but it does appear that you can get replacement pistons, or new piston/seal kits.

I did this 25 years ago in my driveway with a 4spd going into a 383 with a non-drilled crankshaft. I had to cut off about 1/2" off the tip of the 4spd so it would bolt up to the motor. This was back before application specific bearings were available for this so i took my measurements and went...
I've run 3.23's in almost all my mopars over the years and they are a great all around gear, good in town performance but not to high to effect your drivetrain to much while out on the hwy.
As for the sure grip option...I really like the look of the tru-trac system looks like it could handle a...
As someone who has done rear discs on their 8.75" rear years ago and driven a lot of miles I can honestly say for me it was a waste of money. Do they look cool through my 15x7 cop car rims...sure they do, but do they offer me any real advantage in breaking over the 11x2.5" drums I had on there...
I'm taking the original tag off my coronet and putting it somewhere safe, I have a few tags from junkyard cars I saved over the years...might use a mid 70's T/C wagon tag on it just to make people scratch their heads.
I've never done anything with 273's, but if they use the same motor mounts as the LA motors then it should just drop in but you might have to find a different oil pan? The 360 is all by itself on oil pans due to the larger rear main journal, so might need to find a 360 oil pan from a 72 and...
I second the Eastwood manifold paint...good stuff and last for years! Best is to put it on fresh blasted manifolds, but I did a quick wire whee cleaning of the HP manifolds I put on the 440 in my wagon and brushed on the eastwood paint. Been on there 7-8 years and the rust is starting to come...
This was my thought as well. My daughters 88 Aries K-car had these symptoms and after much hair pulling and sensor/part replacement it eventually turned out to be the magnetic pick up in the dizzy.
Scuff it and paint it tu-tone...original brown/beige and then a white painted top, bit of pin stripping decal to separate the top and body color and you'd have a nice looking little car.
