So, I've 'resurrected' my '72 Satellite project - new fuel tank, new carburetor, bled the brakes, new air shocks, and got the carb dialed in enough to get 'er running.
ish.
Starts fine dead-cold. Runs fine dead-cold.
Starts fine fully hot (i.e. after a quick run into the hardware store, to...
I likely misspoke about the secondaries. Wrong term. Once I get out of the idle circuit, it was running great. The idle circuit - with one screw six turns out and one screw bottomed on the seat - seems to have been the issue. Both screws 1.5 turns out from the seat, makes it much happier...
This was not so much a "discover the manual" experience, but part of the "I'm finally driving it enough to start noticing and sorting these things out" experience.
Today's commute to work - 33 miles - is the furthest single trip I've made in it to date.

Yeah, I figure it's something like that. Happens on my bikes if I forget to use SeaFoam (or, like the Charger, right after I buy one and before I have a chance to go through it!).
I just need to get it apart and learn the geography.
Posted this by mistake in the engine section...sorry!
...well, went to start the Charger for a spin around the block after work tonight because it's 70 degrees and...well...I wanted to drive it. Cranked over, fired up, sputtered for about 30 seconds...dead. Tried cranking for a while - it's a...
