The problem with 60+ year old springs, is the fatigue, and brittleness, if they've been in unforgiving climates. Most of my project's had broken, or deep rust damage, so replacement has been the path. There is a point where it's not worth the effort to save them...

I ordered my '63 springs from Espo, and just had them add a leaf, and 1" lift. Worked well...

Time, and money(cost) ultimately control the decision. If you are anxious to get the car done, and drive it, there are some nice rollers around now, for what I see as fairly priced. The older you get, time spent outways cost...
