Need to do some adjustments with 426 Hemi.

Do you know the engine has a stroker kit or is bored oversize? And what is your elevation above sea level? Because according me, (bear in mind in am just a beginner with this) with a stock bore and stroke and a bigger then stock cam i end up with below to get a 150 psi cranking pressure on the...

Need to do some adjustments with 426 Hemi.

150 psi is a number to stay close to. Did you check all 8 cylinders? If they are all close to each other it means your bottom end is still good and does not require any attention. I have no idea what a hemi has on combustion chamber volume and i am unexperienced in doing the math myself...

Need to do some adjustments with 426 Hemi.

In that case it's best to pull the cylinder heads, camshaft, etc. and see what you have first before ordering a new camshaft. You might find the piston part number, can measure cylinder head volume and do some math from there on on what fits your application with or without new pistons...

Need to do some adjustments with 426 Hemi.

Do you have the details of the engine build, camshaft, pistons (manufacturer/type/oversize), cylinder heads (stock or Aluminium),head gasket tickness, etc? Or did a PO do this?

Need to do some adjustments with 426 Hemi.

I would first see what static compression ratio you are at now. With the cam specs of the current camshaft you can estimate the dynamic pressure as well. Because likely you are running a high compression now, throwing in a milder cam will just increase cylinder pressures beyond where you want it...

    Dash frame installation

I did the dash frame first and installed all other components bit by bit. But yeah, wiper mechanism, insulation i did prior to that. I did not come across any issues with installation, everything could be installed after the frame was put in place, as you have a/c (i don't) there might be some...

1969 Coronet Super Bee exhaust tips

Just had a peek in the option code list, not sure how complete this is but it says that there were only a few options and only available on later models, '70 -'71 Code N42 chrome tips. Edit: just curious, how does that exhaust sound? I also want to go for a 2,5" TTI system, H-pipe or X-pipe?

Original VIN pad stamping on Engine?

Here is mine, '69er though so i have the full VIN on the pad. The stamping is far from perfect on mine. Same as with 33 IMP his stamping, mine also is so darn close to the lower edge, yours is more in the middle. But as mentioned, it might depend who did it. Maybe some employers at those days...

    Pics of everyones 68-69 Coronets

I will have to pull my engine, i know there are some issues with the threaded holes in the cylinder heads as well so i cannot make them really tight. I thinks some i will have to drill and install heli-coils, after that making sure the header flange is straight i should get it sorted with some...

    Pics of everyones 68-69 Coronets

I got the Hooker-style headers, not sure what brand it really is but as they are making life very hard with leaks. Also pulling a spark plug becomes a challenge on it's own with them things so i am sniffing around for a future improvement that can be made. Original manifolds do give some space...

Best location for 12v electric choke source

I also want to change my carb for another one with electric choke so curious on your question as well. Not sure how much an electric choke pulls amps wise, those gauges will be a low load though. If it will be too much the fuse will burn out, indicating it cannot handle it. There are more...

    Thermastat talk

On modern thermostats the temperature sensitive component opens the valve, as temperature rises it continues to expand and the valve opens more. So the valve movement goes paralel with the temperature but the bi-metal has a certain reaction time and all this prevents extreme fluctuation of the...

    Pics of everyones 68-69 Coronets

Many beauty's here. Does anyone has a guestimate on how many '69 Coronet R/T's are still alive? From '69 production figures I remember there were less than 5000 build...IRC. I can only see a random one popping up here in Europe, hard to find. Sometimes you come across a 440, 500 or Super Bee but...

    Coronet dash removal question

The initial question was to remove the dash to paint it, indeed later on the conversation changed over to the dash pad. Anyway, thought is was worth sharing for the ones in need.
