    1976 Cordoba Battery hold down

No idea what that first sentence is. Yes, it's correct for a 79. Fit, yes, but the wiring for the pump would not be there.

    1976 Cordoba Battery hold down

What is that ? Made of what ? By the way, I think the style with the W/S tank is only on 79, maybe 78 models ?

    1976 Cordoba Battery hold down

^^ Yes, that's what I was referring ! A nut on the front side of the rad support holds the battery hold-down !

    1976 Cordoba Battery hold down

Sometime around then... I worked on so many different cars, sometimes I actually think of something was on one brand of a car, when it was on a different car ! But, one thing was certain. I hated the big, ugly Ford bumpers.

    1976 Cordoba Battery hold down

Indeed. They didn't change the design until the 70's. There was a regular type hold-down, where the one end went straight to the rad support and bolted there. Also, the same configuration used with a thermo-guard.

    1976 Cordoba Battery hold down

Although in the 70's they started with one j-bolt to the tray and the other end of the hold-down straight across the top through the baffle of the rad support.

    1976 Cordoba Battery hold down

The Thermo-Guard was a plastic housing which covered the battery. Depending on the year, it may be different. For example, my 79 incorporates a W/S fluid resevoir.

Cordoba sells for almost 40K at Mecum

The 79 300 I had years ago was one of the best cars I've ever had. One reason I got my look-alike today... which is again, a great reliable car even though it's not the performance model.

Cordoba sells for almost 40K at Mecum

And not very economical at all. Worst car I ever had was a mid 70's Dart with a /6.

Cordoba sells for almost 40K at Mecum

The downsized 80's Cordoba were available with the /6. I don't recall ever coming across a 70's Cordoba with that.

Cordoba sells for almost 40K at Mecum

True, but it's like everything else, when a name gets attached to something, it becomes muddled with something else. It becomes a habit when you get another job, you called it what you're used to saying.

Cordoba sells for almost 40K at Mecum

Don't recall a b-body Cordoba available with a /6. The lean-burns were a problem then. Mount a rudimentary computer-board above the engine heat.... duh !

Cordoba sells for almost 40K at Mecum

My 79 300 I had probably 30 years ago was one of the BEST cars of many I've owned. My disco Doba in the 70's was a reliable car. And my current one I stumbled across on a whim, is a great highway car. We used to swap out the lean-burn in the garage back in the day. My current car still has all...

Cordoba sells for almost 40K at Mecum

Had one back in the disco days, had a 300 years later. So, I came across this look-a-like a few years ago. This original unrestored car could take me coast-to-coast in comfort. I like it. But nobody would even pay 10 grand for it.

    Known issues with 1979 Cordoba?

My current 79 is the 3rd Cordoba I've owned, since the first one in the 70's. Since it's a garage kept survivor, it doesn't have the usual rot near the subframe, and rear floor/wheelhouses. I had a '79 300 years ago, one of the best cars I've ever owned. Outstanding ? I could drive this...
