I dont know if its giving up the ghost but the RV-2 dual piston compressors are very inefficient. I had one on a 79 warlock with a 360 and had similar experience where is ran about 20deg higher with AC on here in TX. I had planned on converting to one of the newer scroll type compressors that...

Just a note for the public record. Classic and Restomod are one and the same. Restomod was created to offer more specialty components such as billet controls and brackets. The ac components are the same as Classic offers.
Based on those conditions you are right were you should be. I would suggest a shroud and a thermostat though. The additions of the shroud should get you back down under 190 especially in stop and go situations. Unless your car is race car only you should definitely run a thermostat its an...
Hard to say without more info. Under what conditions are you taking the measurement, car sitting in garage idling, just finished driving 20 miles in stop n go traffic, just got off highway and sitting on the side of the road? Other things to consider would be cooling system components, flex...

In order to convert my 340 to mpfi I am going to need an angled thermo housing. Anyone know which housings are compatible with small blocks? When I search Google all I see are big block, ford and chevy angled housings.
Thinking about your issue I recalled a scenario from Fast and Loud last night where AK was racing Pikes Peak Hill climb and he was having overheating issues. The solution was to cut holes in the hood to allow heat out of the engine compartment. Not sure if the Lemons rules would allow this but...
If the heater core is gone than eliminate the heater circuit. All keeping it in a loop is doing is providing a potential area for air to seep into the system, and creates another hose that can blow if the car does overheat. I believe the water pump on the Ram 250,s 360LA motors are high volume...
If you still have the original copper and steel radiator and iron heads than your good with Green. I think most manufacturers switched to the newer Orange because some of the chemicals in the old school Green coolant didn't play nice with modern plastic and aluminum radiators and heads. Overall...
