The ones we have at work are pretty old so maybe they don't make them that way anymore. If you look at the photo of the Wilton posted by BeeKool it is located between the two bolts that attach it to the bench and some have another one on the other side that isn't visible in the photo.
The only thing I can add is if I bought another vise I would make sure it has dual lock downs to keep it from spinning as mine has a single lock down and it doesn't hold as well as the dual ones I have at my workplace.
I have 2 Halon fire extinguishers for my 65 a 2.5 lb. inside an a 5 lb. in the trunk....as for tools it won't matter you will not have the one you need in a pinch.:lol:

Also avoid any more diesel fuel that will actually break it down and make it softer.
Just pack the heck out of it with some type of roller and seal it up.
I made a chess set when in High School....If a person thought about it I bet you could come up with a lot of great ideas. I agree with 2059 very interesting and fun post.
After seeing the space management of some of the post here I feel guilty about complaining I don't have enough space....thanks for reminding me to be thankful for what I have.
This might be a long shot but is there a Tech. College near by that teaches auto mechanics? I realize the modern equipment is different but you never know maybe one of the older instructors can help you out.

I have installed Gladiator garageworks cabinets in my garage and I really like them, solid, doors shut nice and if you watch Sears they have them on sale sometimes. Also I purchased heavy duty shelves from Menards that you cut your boards to length and install in the frame, they are really tough...
