Talking about brain-dead! I don't know what I was thinking I've bought from them before just never crossed my mind because I was looking for information do you by chance know if the fury one is the proper one to use for this conversion
Looking to convert my 67 Bbody stock tie rod to the bigger larger size C body 11/16 set up.
I have heard 67 fury adjusting sleeves but I'm wondering what other model would be the correct replacement for me to do the upgrade
Or if anybody has the correct set and would like to sell please PM...
What I heard one time is to jack the rear up by the pumpkin and then measure the front also make sure the front tire air pressure's are the same before adjusting
Not that I know of the bolts are basically up under the dashboard and the best way I've found using a long extension maybe if you have to put two or three together and then use a swivel. If you have to you can loosen the steering column from the floor and a dash drop it down now I'll give you a...
This is interesting I just checked my 67 suspension with the car on the ground I have an inch between the tie rod end and a torsion bar. I see the nut is drawn up pretty far on the idler arm leaving the cotter pin
outside the castle nut still doesn't look like that would give it enough room to...
I'm not sure about the thread direction but there is an inner and outer tie rod so I would say since there sold like that I would believe they're not the same they need to be placed in the proper orientation.
The smaller the bore size the better 1.030 /1.0 Will work fine The bigger the bore size the harder the break pedal will be. You can get 15/16 bore sizes in master cylinders but their aftermarket and you have to use an adapter plates and they have plastic reservoirs which don't look at home...
Maybe your rubber brake line is swollen/collapsed on the inside? are you running green bearings, where are the brake shoes making contact with the drum to cause the dragging on the bottom/sides? check for any up and down movement in the axle
Yes if you plan on staying with manual disc brakes your going to want the 1 inch bore size or smaller for your master cylinder which creates higher pressure with less effort then a 1 1/8 bore size. 1 1/8 bore size will give you less pedal travel but you will have to exert more...
Another route would be Autozone they offer one for your gtx/440ci ( m1487) with front disc and a 1" bore with a bigger reservoir then your manual brake one, or you can go to a 67 fury/440ci (m1327) one with a even bigger reservoir and 1" bore not sure on the stud size that goes throw the...
We need to see some pics of the spindle after you get the bearing race unseized and not a problem getting another spindle setup in fact I got a complete set from the spindles out in my garage off over my 67 coronet so me or somebody else on here can get you back up and running
The master cylinder you'll want is one for a 70 RoadRunner which must have been available with manual disc brakes the master cylinder is m1523 I got mine from Autozone the studs might be slightly bigger diameter than what you have I just use Grade8 bolts for now but it works fine it has the...
(1) I'm not sure how they would sit when you compressed it back together but you can always Buy energy suspension tire rod boots from Autozone for five bucks a set that are really nice I just got done changing all my ball joint boots over to them really looks good (2) moog parts of the best...
