I like the fiber mesh much stronger. Pored my garage floor six inches thick with bell footers. Pored it in sections three bays. The last one was the middle one. It got cold and was waiting to finish bull floating the floor it did not want to harden. After much time went in for a cup of coffee...
Replaced all my overhead lighting in my shop from 4-foot fluorescents to Led's. Easy swap and put out more light than the old tubes. Bought a Halogen work light and it got really hot under the car. But could see a lot better. Led's are cooler for sure.
Did not intend on stepping on your toes about the electrical. Just wanted to point out a few things. Looks like you have it under control and a good electrician. Some people tap into their house power and don't figure the load there going to pull for the shop. Most homes are 200-amp service and...
So, no conduit for running electrical wires. Drilling through your support post don't know if I would have done that. Is the service at your house going to handle the extra amps needed to run the shop? When ordering the wires for the main did you do a voltage drop calculation on the distance...
Stayed away from glass beads. It scares me. Soda blasting gets into cracks and can cause rust latter. Hard to get out. Bought a harbor freight sand blaster and used a low grit sand. If too large it plugs up the system. Did a lot with wire wheels and small sanding disc from harbor freight...
Got a car cover for the runner. After putting it on and off a few times decided that it was not a good idea. Can scratch the paint and windshield wipers tend to grab it. Oh well. Just my two cents'.
So is the rest of the building a steel building or wood frame. Guess will have to keep watching to see. Cement is a back braking job for sure.
Night light's working over time I see. Do you get double pay for night work. LOL. Look's good wish ya the best their. You know once the slab is down then the work start's. Hey have fun and when your done you can have a beer and celebrate. Like your feathered sight inspector's. Had three jakes in...
I swapped out my blubs in my 2X4 fluorescent celling light's in my paint booth. With led bulb's. 100 buck's for a case of blubs. Removed the ballast that cost as much as the fixture and direct wire to the led blubs. Found them on line. But I already had the fixtures and a friend of mine was...
What we won't go through to get a tool we can work with. What are you planning on making with the Damascus steel. Do you have a forge also. Al way's wanted a forge to work on thing's. Good luck and show some pic's of what your making.
When in a hurry think we all have had something happen like the drill in reverse. Here is one for you. Was building something with metal and needed to have some hole's drilled in the plate I was welding. Thought I would weld it on then drill the hole's. Wrong. The heat tempered the metal and the...
Like the building lay out. Yes prices are sky high. Even metal has spiked in price. Their are building packages sitting a round the country for sale. Most of them just bolt together. Yes run conduit under the slab for your electrical as much as you can. It is cost effective. When I was an...
Curved building's stand wind load's better. Then one my friend built bolt's together. Once you get the first section up the rest goes easy. Raising it up on a stem wall also keep's the metal bottom out of the water. That help's stop it form rusting. He had to get a bigger front roll up door due...
Have you looked into the curved building's a buddy of mine put his own up with family helping. He put up a stem wall to raise up the building to give him more space on the side's. Which seem to be the problem with those type of building's. Or if you search on line you can find building's that...
Steel stud's can be affixed to the pearling's to make a finished wall of your choice of sheeting. Was around many steel building's and they did this to make office wall's. So good luck and don't think you cant go wrong on a steel building.
