Greg and others, not sure if you've seen this one. Some great info to be had. I have the tools and cleaner on the way now. Will be ready when the 67 starts acting up.
Cleaning electrical wiring connectors
Mopar alternator pulley puller. Does p/s units too. Jaws go around the little nub down inside the pulley and the sleeve holds them together as you tighten up the bolt. Various companies make this.

This looks promising. 493Mike posted it awhile back. My 67 has an MSD Distributor in it but I'm thinking of chasing down a stocker, maybe Ricks, to use instead and do this swap. When I had my Challenger, the engine/trans was out while at the paint shop, so I took the time to unwrap the firewall...
What's your engine and TTI combo? Mike and I are running similar combos. My engine is an Indy aluminum low deck wedge with the TTI headers specifically for that. 2 1/8 step units. I'm using the Powermster unit, 9523? I think. Tried all 4 clockings till I achieved the best fit. Still needed to...
The grounds on old cars were barely enough back in the day. Add in electric fans, EFI, electric fuel pumps, boom boxes, higher output alternators, a/c, computers etc the existing grounds are not going to cut it. Tie that in with rust, corrosion in lamp sockets etc and you'll end up with...
Where was the rust located? HEI distributors, GM starting in 75, had an issue with rust freezing up the mechanical advance mechanisms. The cause was from faulty, high resistance plug wires. Too much resistance made the spark generated look for the least possible path. It would back track through...
Headlight Revolution and United Pacific Car Parts. Plus Hella. I had Hella's on my Challenger running halogen bulbs. No LED's back then. 55/100's and 100's. Hella is used extensively on Euro stuff too.
Looks like typical butchered, old car wiring. Do yourself a favor, avoid having the "hottest car" in the area[ due to an electrical short derived fire] and REPLACE from front to back. Keep the old molded plugs but boot the rest.
As some of the others have pointed out, the bulb grounds to the socket which grounds to the housing which grounds to the bumper which grounds to the body etc. I can't remember if the housing is stamped or cast but over time the junction between the socket and the housing is an area that may be...
Greg, see how much voltage you have at the positive side of the coil when the switch is at start and run. You may have too much voltage drop by the time it gets there.
I put one of those on my Duster back in the mid 70's. Great unit. They also made a 7C unit which I used later on for the same car. Need a wiring diagram?
