I might take this out for a spin tomorrow, what do you all think?

I just stumbled on to this splendid thread, and I have to say that I just love this approach. A huge challenge made fun and informative, and right under the overhang. I love the green steering wheel, I hope it stays the only thing green in the car, just for the fun of it. Keep up the good work...

    PLZ FORGIVE ME GUYS...HEEELLLLPPP!

Sooo, now that the cars running, and Jason has his shifter caught in the steering wheel, can we concentrate on what’s really important here?

Who has E bodies? Let’s see.

Yep, I think there’s a pair of buckets, one for sure. I’ll be picking up the car and all the parts on Sunday, I’ll be better able to go through it all when I get it loaded, and home.

Who has E bodies? Let’s see.

I’m just going to clean it up and put it back together and see how much I can do on it for free. It’s gonna need some love, and it comes with a truck load of parts, so I’ll have a couple of everything to choose from.

Who has E bodies? Let’s see.

Nope, it’s a 318 car, it’s got the original drivetrain. I think the stripes were added by “hot rod Johnny” sometime early on in its life.

This is coming out of the barn after 30 or more long years of hibernation.

New Roadrunner. Do I keep the Charger?

Drive one, build the other. Sound philosophy!

How important is numbers matching to you?

I wouldn’t bother with that either. In the end, the trans doesn’t matter as much as the engine, and for drive-ability, it doesn’t matter at all. Use the parts you have installed, don’t worry about the numbers.

How important is numbers matching to you?

You can say numbers matching is not important, but it does set the price for setting the market. That said, I drive my numbers matching 6bbl Roadrunner whenever I’m going anywhere. And, it is almost completely original. The value to me isn’t in the numbers, it’s being able to drive a car that’s...

    I'm running out of gas!

so, how is that not motivation right there!^^^^ Just look how far you’ve come, and how close you are to being ready to drive it? You are at the best part of a build, when you do something to it and it is finished. The floor pan may be repaired, but when you put the carpet in, the floor pan is...

    I'm running out of gas!

You’re doing a great job, and even if you only work on it an hour or so at a time, it all adds up. You watch, you’ll be driving it in no time. It will never be done, satisfy yourself with that notion, but also in the fact that you will know every corner of this car, and be able to correct things...

    Sleeping Beauty

Carbs back on, all dialed in, distributor all dialed in, took if for a longer ride yesterday. It now runs flawlessly, idles smooth, instant response, no lag or bog, and great pickup. On to the next project, taking it out Friday to get a full exhaust. And then there’s the problem of the valve...

    Sleeping Beauty

Carburetors are off, cleaned and rebuilt. Of course, the damn renew kit supposedly for 6bbl carbs only has enough gaskets and parts for about 2/3rd of the job, so I played the waiting game and everything finally came from Holley today. Well, almost everything. The kit only had 2 base gaskets...
