This is true - 68 does not have the VIN stamped in the body. I looked at a number of 68RR's and kept getting confused as why the stamping never matched until I found out it was the SO stamped in the trunk lip and radiator support.
Yes, he has the VIN tag, but sold the frame. The body stamping's line up with the VIN and Fender tag. I would have to get a real Rallye frame and mount the VIN.
I've seen a few potential car ads that did this. Not quite sure what the worry is, but I am trying to figure out the other side of the argument. I guess I understand now why his FB ad has been up for 6 weeks. Car looks like a good builder too.
Thought about going that route, but prices are much in line with most everything that is hit by inflation these days. I never seem to run into the good deal with these cars, but mostly looking for opinions on the body.
Been looking at this Coronet pretty hard and thinking of making the drive to go see it. 69 R/T body, wrong dash, but body numbers all match up. No interior, but I actually prefer this since I would be stripping it out anyway to get the body finished. Trying to see what I may be missing...

All the body stamping match the VIN and Fender Tag. It does not have the...
Back Story on these cars - a fellow B Body Forum member here contacted me about having a few cars for sale and invited me to look in response to my WTB post. His profile is
Jax_1975_Dart. You can contact him about the cars he gave me permission to let you all know who he is.
This past Saturday I went to look at a "few" Mopars for sale, and stumbled into 3 buildings full of Mopars.
FYI - these are all for sale with the exception of the 69 GTX :)
I met your friend when he bought my GTX a few years back. He was quite the character in person and a total car guy. My daughter was almost killed in a car wreck, which is why I ended up selling the car. They money from the sale was going to help teach her to walk again and help cover the...
Thanks for all the comments, it helps a lot. I am going to get it back on the road a few more times and see how it goes. I kind of like the idea of picking up a 2nd mopar, but my better half may not agree.
