I am trying to figure out the best way to get the undercoating off my Coronet. My garage is too small for a rotisserie keeping me from doing it the old school way. I was thinking of having the whole car chemically dipped (non-acid) and primed....or have a dustless blaster come to my place just...
I believe all these companies are getting there carpet from the same source. I didn't get the mass backing because I had Lizard Skin sprayed to insulate things. After installing the carpet I would probably have done things a bit different and went with the mass backing.
I used SEM Trim Black for my TX9 71 GTX. It was a flat to mild satin finish and it lays down real nice even out of a can. You can spray it from a gun or rattle can. I had my frame blasted and powder coated with an epoxy powder coat, then I filled a few areas of pitting with Metal-2-Metal...
Thanks for the reply. The epoxy primer is a powder coat epoxy primer and the tech sheet just lists out the cure times. The shop said I could scuff it and be fine, but so many conflicting recommendations on the web that I am wondering if I should just strip it down again.
I had my dash frame blasted and epoxy primer painted. It's fully cured, and there are a few areas I need to repair with some filler. What is the proper grit paper to prep the surface prior to filler and next coat of high build primer?
Thanks,
Craig
I am not a body man, but I would say you should think hard about getting the car blasted professionally and have them epoxy primer it. I found after going through the build process twice - the first a disaster and my current a much better experience, that you need to come up with a plan and...
I had to repair the upper cowl area on my 71 GTX, which required me pulling off the body numbers plate. In liu of spot welding this back on, I was wondering what kind of protection from rust would I get from the adhesive if I used this instead of spot welding with weld through primer?

I am looking for some guidance on exactly where these go. The original fenders were replaced with donors from other cars without the emblem holes. Does anyone have the measurements for reference?

Thanks guys for the input. So to clear up any confusion about the shop...when I say they are pushing the product, it's their preference of a one product over another. The idea of laying a bed liner type product in the trunk and on the floor boards was mine (Actually got the idea after seeing how...
Hey,
I was wondering if anyone had experience with this product:

The shop is pushing this product pretty hard and before I commit to using something like this vs. other bedliner products on the floor or trunk areas, I was hoping some of you guys might chime...
