I've seen on Star Trek where accelerating toward the sun will slow down a clock, even to the point where they spin backwards and you go back in time.......might be worth a shot

it's probably stuck in the pump
bend the end of a flat screw driver 90* and try getting it under the gear
or if you can get the pump off, it may be free........ I'd probably pull the pump first
back in the day, we used to pull the positive terminal........ if it stays running, it's charging
I'm sure someone will say it's a bad idea, but I never seen it hurt anything on an old car........... not saying do it, just tripping down memory lane
