Was your dad a gear head or no?

My Dad isn't mechanically inclined but my grandfather on my Mom's side was a machinist before he retired the first time, then worked as handyman/superintendent of some commercial buildings. He was fearless when it came to fixing anything. Electrical, plumbing, construction... he would take on...

What have you broken while out hot rodding your car?

Just relatively small stuff for me. I threw a belt or three before I got the pulley alignment dialed in. Burned up a power steering pump, which wouldn't have been a big deal except I lost brakes (hydroboost) at a very inconvenient time. Luckily no major damage, just a bit of curb rash. Oh, I...

Locked out of Dodge Charger . com

Troy, the owner/admin, is a one-man show. DC.com is ad-free, so the site is paid for and maintained out of his pocket, and I don't know how many other admins are active these days. Troy is local to me, and we met up not long after I got my Charger. He seems a good guy, but I'm sure has a...

Locked out of Dodge Charger . com

Looks like there was a site upgrade last month that caused problems for some users. There's a note on the forum that asks people to reach out to [email protected] with any issues.

    Is It Over???

I watch about 1 football game per year and it's usually the Super Bowl. First half was kind of a snore-fest, but the 2nd half was pretty thrilling. Mahomes made some incredible plays.

    charger 68 in france

All 68-70 b bodies should have similar routing for brake and fuel lines. Fuel and brake line routing . Companies like Inline Tube make pre-formed/pre-bent lines for these cars, if you want to go that route. Once you lay them out it's pretty clear where they go.

What modifications for your car have you kept putting off ?

I have lowering blocks and u-bolts bought, just haven't installed them. I need to find a different distributor to get more vac. advance. Still haven't finished installing/wiring the heater controls. I've burned #5 plug wire a couple times, need to do something about that. Oh, and new mufflers...

    2023/24 JEEP WRANGLER

I had a '95 YJ with the 4.0L I-6 and it was a total beast in any kind of bad weather. I had it for 6 years and I think I only ever did oil changes and tires. Great machine.

    Automotive memorabilia auction

A friend of mine sent me a link to this auction brochure. Just passing along to anyone that might be interested. The estimated prices for this stuff seem crazy (to me), but I don't really know anything about this market. 2023 July 19 & 20 Automobilia & Petroliana Lots of interesting antiques...

Anyone done those leaf filter things on your gutter?

They make "better" stuff now; it has a finer mesh overlay to keep out the smaller crud. I bought the Costco stuff for a small job and was pleased with it. It came with self tappers and double-sided tape. For big jobs it would be nicer to have longer lengths, it's a bit tedious doing it 3-4...

Anyone done those leaf filter things on your gutter?

I highly recommend them if you have any tall trees around. You can absolutely DIY them or get a handyman to install some for a fraction of the price.

What did you do to your Mopar today?

Changed front brake pads for a Hawk HP Street 5.0 pad. I mistakenly moved to a 'high performance street/track' pad when the hydroboost failed and I switched to manual brakes, thinking I'd get better stopping power. Not only did I not really notice any improvement in stopping, but the car...

    Hydrogen engine

There's no arguing Toyota is doing amazing things with hydrogen, but the Mirai is a luxury econobox. Performance-wise it's slower than a base Toyota Corolla. It holds about 5.5kg of hydrogen, and all the tanks, fuel cell, etc., take up quite a bit of space. I'm not hating on hydrogen, I would...
