Around 120mph is where the hoods want to take on a funny shape. If you have 2 hood pins on your core support, you will need 1 or 2 more in the center and about 3 inches ahead of the core support. Did you ever notice that the old racers used belts to hold their hoods down? Now that is old school.
Try Unlimited Products in Florida. They have a few different hoods , front fenders, and bumpers. Unlimited has been around a long time and has probably gave a few of the Florida companies a training lesson or 2. Making molds for one project can be a long costly disappointing project for someone...
I am sure that there are a select few that know what you are working on, but there are a lot of people that don't have a clue. If you could tell us, then maybe we all could pool our knowledge and look through the fiberglass sites to make good recomendations. Or we could say, "WE NEED PICTURES"...
The old 265 cu.in. flathead Chrysler and the 308 Hudson flathead were our first race motors. The Chrysler would do it's winnings against the smaller v8s where the old Hudson which was bored .125 over for 330 cu.in., would run with the 440 6 packs and some of the slower Hemis. We won a lot of...
On the motorhome and truck blocks, there are a couple of extra bumps in the casting above the bell housing and below the heads. Nothing wrong with the 413 blocks. That's what a lot of the max wedge racers are using because of it's strength.
When people ask me if my 68 Hemi Cuda s/s car is real, I just say no, but then I tell them who raced it and built it and the amount of NHRA Wallys and the documentation that the car has , and they are impressed.
I know that any parts that go into Peru has to be unused parts--new or nos. No used parts go into Peru through their customs. I sold a set of steel 1962 Plymouth to a man in Peru and he had me ship them to Chicago for sandblasting, a good coat of primer, and a stenciled on painted part number...
It all depends on how you mount it, whether it will hold up or not. That is a very long hood and should have some bracing to keep the shape. I have been in the fiberglass business since 1993 and have only seen one of these hoods and it weighed a bunch. You are lucky to have found a mfg. for that...
I am the FBBO member that made the Mopar Muscle Medium Max Wedge hood scoop. Thanks to this article , we have record braking sales on that scoop and hood. We didn't know that there were that many 64 Dodges that wanted to go on a diet. We are Sled City Fiberglass 1-614-875-0369
Seeing how that I make a lot of fiberghlass bumpers, I get that question all the time. I always hear that someone is doing this process, but I have never heard of anybody stepping up to say----Hey, I do the chrome on the bumpers and it turns out good everytime and it is affordable too! One guy...
Looks like Max Wedge ports in those gaskets. What kind of Manifold is being used? If you are using a max wedge set up then get rid of the metal pan and only use one gasket and silicone the hell out of the front and rear.
Mopar Mickey, We are a small shop that specializes in only parts that fit the 62-68 Mopar s/s cars. We do a few other Mopar related cars also. We accept personal checks, money orders, and PayPal. We do not do Chevy , Ford, etc., but we are thinking of taking on the Willys Aero part line. Sorry...
