    Turn signal for '66 Charger

That is a great price. I was looking at having to pay $133. I fabbed up a 67 after my 66 quit working, but you have to grind off so much that the cancel arm breaks off. Now I have to manually cancel my right blinker which is really annoying. I would really like to buy a new switch if it is only...

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

Rev, the fans are installed. Since all the electrical issues have been sorted out, I have been posting over in the heating, cooling, and AC forum. I hope you stop over there for a minute to check out the pictures of my fans. It took me 14 hours to put those in.

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

I have a thread started on the mechanical fan debate over in the heating, cooling, and ac forum.

    brake lights?

I can't use it because a 67 switch will not fit into a 66 column. They made the column bigger in 67 and so not even the chrome trim around the column on the lower part of the dash is interchangeable. Eventually I will just buy a new one for 150$ so that my right blinker can cancel automatically.

Electric fan question- how to reverse motor.

Right, you can never be too careful when dealing with something like this. I checked, then double checked to make sure that I did everything right. I was really freaking out though when I did not see a switch to reverse the direction of the motor. I thought I somehow got screwed be incorrect...

Electric fan question- how to reverse motor.

So, what is really good is that I remembered to check for the direction of the fan blades before installing the fans. However, I was not really comfortable drilling holes in my car and making custom brackets until I new for sure that these fans were going to work. As it turns out, all you have...

Electric fan question- how to reverse motor.

Never mind, the email link was going to my spam which I just remembered could happen. I tried to delete this thread but for some reason you cannot delete an original post. Now I should be able to figure everything out with the instructions which I can now download.

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

I am already thinking this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-1318/ with whatever size spacer will put the fan at the optimal distance from the radiator. Right now the fan sits very very close to the radiator, like maybe 1/2 inch.

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

What the hell is this!!! Look at how small and puny these fan blades are! No wonder my car ran so hot! The fan blade is way smaller than my hand. Also, the clutch assembly makes it impossible to make the fan blades any longer, and there are huge gaps between the blades. I can see where there is...

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

Thanks Rev, like you said, installing these fans is going to be funner than I thought. Notice how I have already used the aluminum sheet stock to install the cooler. The straps would not have worked on the cooler side anyway. You guys are going to like my solution. I can use some metal pipe as...

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

Yeah I was talking about those. However, I am now investigating your idea which I have already done to mount my trans cooler and will have my solution posted here shortly.

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

Oh no I forgot to order the nylon mounting straps which I was thinking would have been included with the fans so I don't get to do anything to my car this weekend.

    brake lights?

I was reading another similar post from Sweet5ltr and I think I remember someone saying that there is a wire in the turn signal switch that has something to do with the brake lights. This sounds like a wire is getting crushed when he torques the hub causing the wire to become grounded.

    brake lights?

GTX, it is not you, it is the site. This is an extremely slow moving site, and it could take a day or more before anybody who can answer the question pops in. If you want to be a member here, you will have to be patient and continue to post in your thread or create a new thread as the situation...

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

Just got off the phone with Classic Auto Air and I will only need the single pulley alternator. The guy confirmed that some A/C setups could use the second pulley on the alternator to turn the compressor. I am going to send off this order, and will let you know how everything works out.

    Toggle switch life expectancy

Yeah, they are like a couple bucks. I already figured I would grab one when I go pick up my other parts from the store and spend 20 minutes (times 3) I mean an hour putting it in.

    Toggle switch life expectancy

Just in case you were wondering, it is a cutoff switch I have epoxied up in the left rear quarter panel of my 05 Monte Carlo. The solenoid wire to the starter runs through it, and ever since I installed it I have flipped the switch almost every time I park the car over the last 4 years...

    Toggle switch life expectancy

I don't know why but lol. Seriously though wouldn't you think it be like a life time, or like 100's of thousands of clicks? Why would it need me to flick it back and forth before it decided to do its job?

    Toggle switch life expectancy

I bought a brand new toggle switch from the auto parts store and have flipped the switch off and back on a total of 3000 times. The last time I went to turn on the switch, I had to flip the switch off and back on two times before power was going through it. What kind of life expectancy can I...

Project Alternator/Electric Fan: still have questions (I have read all the archives)

All I really need to know at this point is, is there any reason why I should order the dual pulley alternator? What is that second pulley used for?
