1971 Charger Stereo install - two different sized speakers?

Both my 62 Dart and 62 Valiant have 3 6x9 'speaker' holes in the steel below the package tray, as well as a thin slit behind the middle speaker hole. All 3 'speaker' holes have 4 bolt holes around them and a 6x9 speaker will fit perfectly. I take it later cars do not. From a 62 I parted out...

Best fitting carpet for 63 Fury with 4 speed

ACC carpet w/ 4 speed in a 62 Dart. Got that extra underlayment, nice stuff, and plenty extra to cut off. Fits pretty good around the shifter, not 100% but very good and certainly not an issue. Left it in the sun for a few hours, you can use the seatbelts and seat brackets to keep it down as you...

    Radio Delete details

On the 62s, optional light package had glovebox light, trunk light, and a not small red emergency brake light, bottom left on dash next to brake release. They drilled a hole in the dash for the red light. If you didn't order it, you wouldn't know it was 'deleted.' Dash without option did not...

    Radio Delete details

My 62 has the factory radio, dash speaker, three '6x9' holes punched in the package tray metal, 2 speakers 1 defrost, but the cardboard package tray has no holes punched in it. My 67, no radio, dash block off plate, speaker grill in dash, fastback with nothing in rear, no hole punched in...

I think you missed the 'Kidding of course' part. Go back and than read it again.

It's 'than' geez. Kidding of course, can't count how many times I've seen 'then' in place of 'than.' Seriously, I can't count.

    Fire wall insulation

I put short bolts with nuts with built in washers on the outside in those holes, with a small bit of rtv or seam sealer. Iirc some holes where not entirely flat, and there were only a few. From the engine compartment, it just looks like something is bolted under the dash. I welded everything on...

    Carpet

My 62 4 speed carpet was perfect, as far as the sewn in mat. My 64 auto carpet was not, but I didn't care. ACC floormats in both. 62 had the extra rubber layer, 64 did not.

    62 Steering Wheel Center

I had one that someone put a hole/screw in the middle, screw too long, put a nick in the emblem from the back. The one I have now, po drilled 3 holes where the pins were, very short small screws, works fine.

    ACC carpet question about jute

Update: cutting the edges to fit, just carpet and thick rubber backing, cutting holes for inner seatbelts and gas pedal, jute either inbetween carpet and thick rubber backing or on outside. I don't recall seeing it on the outside, and I recently installed it, but I could be wrong.

Legendary does not make seat covers for Station Wagons?

They said they only make seat covers for sedans and convertibles. If that is a 2 door sedan, as R413 stated, then no, they don't make a 4 door or wagon front seat cover. I bought their 64 wagon/4 door sedan seat covers for my 64 as well, front bench straight across, one piece, doesn't fold...

    ACC carpet question about jute

I just got ACC carpet with the mass backer for my 62, didn't come with jute. I don't recall if you could add the jute with the mass backer, but I don't see the need. I like it way more better than just the jute, and wish I had ordered it for my 64. On another note, the carpet with the mass...

1962 Plymouth Savoy Door Panels photos

My guess is just the maker of the cardboard backing. My 62 Dart tail light buckets have stamps as well, just the maker of the galvanized metal before it is pressed into shape. I hear SMS is great, but can take a very long time. I was lucky, found a retired upholstery guy, craftsman really, and...

    Sagging Headliner

I took 2 strips of aluminum from a big box store and bridged the gap, just cut to fit and slid them in. Been in there at least 4 years. Carboard would only stay up a few minutes without support, it was just too short in that one section, must have shrunk.

'63 Station Wagon Cargo Area Solutions??

There is a thread on here on this topic. Someone with a 62 did a nice job inexpensively, something from lowes or the depot.

    Legendary seat covers

Iirc they have in the past had 2 sales per year. I spent roughly $1,500 in March of 2018 during a sale. The discount was $240, the shipping was $204. It seems a number of places have drastically reduced discounts and sales, in my experience. I see more giving discounts on shipping, which costs...

    legendary interior

My 64 Fury had the original interior, legendary matched, and has the correct silver center lines and piping. Although the rear seat didn't have any rips or tears the vinyle was hard so I replaced it. The original rear was a tiny bit darker in color. I believe that's normal for any old vinyle, it...

    Best method cleaning windshield?

Whatever you use, go back over it when done with something dry and clean and 'buff' it out, just to get the dried up residue off. Also, when cleaning the inside of the windshield, face away from it, especially when cleaning the bottom. Yeah, that's right, that's what I said, I thought it made...

    Modern stereo system in a B Body - options/ideas

Imo, amps and subwoofer not needed, although I used to have those years ago. My Pioneer Bluetooth receiver puts out plenty, coupled with Infinity speakers in the front and Pioneer in the rear, the sound is crisp, adjustable, and loud enough to drown out any conversation. I was pleasantly...

    Modern stereo system in a B Body - options/ideas

That console is perfect. What are the cup holders, repurposed or actual cup holders from another car? I have a wagon, I use Bluetooth speakers and the music on my phone. Small speaker sits on dash on top of speaker grill and is enough sound. Charge on speakers last forever and once the charge...
