The 18 spline unit very well may be from a 1969 A12 roadrunner, it fits that vin range. If the 23 spline is a B body unit , it could be from any 1968 383 B body application built at St. louis Assembly plant. An example would be a 68 383 RR, most likely to early for a 68 superbee.

the 2769 after the PP833 is the assembly date. that is a 10,000 day calendar date of Tuesday February 25 1969. 0085 should be the 85th unit build that day if I'm not mistaken. Also if this is a B-body 23 spline it is most likely from a 69 charger 383 car. As far as the vin stamp goes 69 is a...
give Dan at Brewers Performance a call. He will have an answer for you I am sure. I have a Mcleod dual disc in my 66 from them, but I am sure he has something for a single disc application.

This is the drive shaft from my 66 hemi 4 speed dana 60 car. You can see the original ink stamp on the drive shaft before I cleaned it up. This will be different from the correct driveshaft for a hemi , auto with 8 3/4 rear axle.

Please check the block to see if it has a partial vin stamp on it for all of us who are looking for there original engines. You mention it being a 68 and that could mean used in a 68 car if so that vin is stamped on the rear of the block flange that would mate up to the bell housing, close to...
Call Cass at Dr. Diff. he is very knowledgeable and may be able to better help you with this. I would not think about shortening any axle length. http://www.doctordiff.com/

Those type spacers are used in clutch style suregrip units only and are not in the factory cone style unit.
If installing a new style auburn unit just call them and ask if anything needs to be removed if using it with non adjustable green axle bearings. I would think not since it is similar...
The cross member and rubber mount are 62-65 Early B body parts. I believe automatic and 3 speed are the same cross member. I go my rubber mount from Imperial services.

It may be wrong but I have always heard a thread to a thread and a half sticking out the bottom of the rocker was correct. If that's the case it does look like the pushrods are to long as your adjuster are all the way up inside the rocker.
Best of luck and maybe its not too bad.

That looks like the head gasket sagging down. There is nothing under it in that area so it will drop some. I don't think it is anything to worry over. What matters is sandwiched between the block and head.

To me it looks to have the B&E tail housing on it as it has the dual shifter pattern 70 and up tail shaft.
Those were found in trucks. You can find a small block bell housing for the OD 5.125 " bearing retainer that was used on the OD units. If you are going with it in a BB you will have to have...
I guess it really comes down to personal preference. So I will give you mine.
I can 100% tell you that Brewers Performance is a top shelf family run company.
I have used them several times through the years with GREAT service. I have also bought and sold them parts and they have always done...
