That would only be true with the more common 8 digits after the part number. 2 groups of 4 stamping, the first group of 4 numbers would be the 10,000 day calendar date, the second group of 4 being the number built that day.

I think it is safe to say no matter what, 66/67 torqueflite transmissions are stamped/ dated in a different format than the 10,000 day calendar method.
As to how it actually works, like I say never really gotten a real answer.

So I posted 3 2538389 1966 hemi units all start with an H. The 2801541 was used in 67 440 HP and early 1968 cars, but also starts with an H. I have one picture of a 2801544 67 or 68 hemi trans, this one is a 67 starts with an H. The 1968 unit I have starts with a J, and has the normal 10,000...
I just came across this thread, and it brings up a very interesting thing that I have never been able to totally get an answer on. So as mention 1966 and 1967 torqueflites are not dated with the typical 10,000 day calendar dates as other year transmissions. I do not know if it is an assembly...
You got torque boxes on 66-69 B bodies with either the hemi or on a convertible. It was for more body structure. It ties the frame rails to the rocker panels. Sway bar is just for less body roll. Makes them drive better in the curves. Only front sway bars as far as I know of on B bodies factory...
No VIN stamps on the engine or the trans to tie them the car prior to 1968. In 1968 they started to put the partial vin stamping on the block and the transmissions. As best you can do on a 67 and back cars is to have date correct parts close to the build date of the car. You did not say what...
No engine or trans VIN numbers stamped on pre 68 model cars. Can only be date code correct. Nothing to actually tie the motor and trans to a specific car.

Looks like you have yourself a very nice project going! Keep us posted on the progress and congrats!
I really like the 67 coronet body style, but I like about all the coronet body styles at least 65-up.

I agree as it has to be worth that in parts with the dana 60. Another thing to keep in mind on these cars is the lack of good quality reproduction exterior sheet metal. Still alot not being repoped for the 66-67 B-bodies. Good luck!
Matt
That is the 67 Hemi Superstock style. WO/RO factory dodge and plymouths superstockers used that style of a scoop to fit the hemi under the hood. BTW if I had that year car and was looking for a scoop that would be it hands down.
