Did you remove two horizontal bolts. One from the front and one from the rear. I have never experienced what you went through in 50 years of doing this. Maybe pictures of the parts that did not come out with the engine will shed some light on the problem.
Honestly in almost 60 years of owning manual transmission Mopar's I don't remember removing one other than to install an auto transmission in their place.
What year is that truck? The 2011and up diesel trans have a valve body solenoid problem that starts at about 100000 if lucky. Only place to get a valve body if of course Ford.
The back of the third row seat is not built into the cargo floor? The seat bottom was basically a cushion.

Must have moved it in 73 as 71 & 72 are on the drivers side. Good to see you doing the little stuff and dueing the work your self. Keep working on it an you will have a nice car when done.
You might want to investigate the need for a different gas and vapor tank before buying a Dania for your 73. In 72 the gas tank is smaller and vaper tank is smaller and located in front of tank instead of drivers wheel well for Diana cars.
