As stated squeeze the blade and pull in out the back of the connecter body which may be hard to do with how it is melted.
I'd check the other side of the bulk head and also the dash harness.
I'd test the battery, alternator and VR.
What happens with the headlights on and nothing else on?
Problem is now either the flasher switch or still could be a weak ground at the tail light housing thus my question with the headlights.

I've owned a lot of 71's all models, no 340's and all had points. My 70-71 FPM doesn't even show electronic ignition. I've had several 72's including a 72 Charger now that are points. Have also owned several 72's that were option N23 for electronic ignition.
