Corrosion happens, time for serious system flush, OR a hot tank if engine out of car. If in car, maybe 2 or 3 flushes (with chemicals).

Slow&easy is the focus on ur 1st rebuild. It will work out fine. Further experience only teaches you to bypass some stuff that doesn’t need replaced. Clutches&steels always, as long as it’s torn down. You are on an epic journey, enjoy!

Lol, mine that I haven’t driven in 5 yrs(body shop) has Moroso’s steel mounts. But yes, the trans mount can contribute a little; not a whole lot.

“driven hard” means nothing to a torqueflight. It was your linkage! Guarantee.

Exactly , measure twice, think 4times. The thrust bearings are way more important.

Go with dvw, you have it apart; change everything you can. You don’t want to pull apart again just because you skimped a little.

New internals. VB itself is aluminum, so it won't rust; it's internals are steel-so very light pressure with some 1200grit& ATF might work. My old race trans had a hemi drum that came from the junk-pile from a trans shop(worked great). Keep all the originals that you can. I'm sure more comments...
