    TF727 inspection and rebuild

I seem to remember emailing Gil Younger(original owner?) way back when, with kinda same problem (while racing). We couldn’t figure it out, so went with full, reverse manual v-body soon after. Sorry, not much help.

    Cracked cylinder?

Corrosion happens, time for serious system flush, OR a hot tank if engine out of car. If in car, maybe 2 or 3 flushes (with chemicals).

Slow&easy is the focus on ur 1st rebuild. It will work out fine. Further experience only teaches you to bypass some stuff that doesn’t need replaced. Clutches&steels always, as long as it’s torn down. You are on an epic journey, enjoy!

How to replace the transmission mount?

Lol, mine that I haven’t driven in 5 yrs(body shop) has Moroso’s steel mounts. But yes, the trans mount can contribute a little; not a whole lot.

Go with dvw, you have it apart; change everything you can. You don’t want to pull apart again just because you skimped a little.

Never heard of white paint. Gasoline (?), I would rather kerosene; but I’m not an expert.

    Big Block Windage Tray

I'm going to try one next time mine gets replaced. Use a 1/4"ratchet with your hand right on the ratchet to lessen the torque. (not the handle!)

    727 Hemi Torqueflite ??'s

New internals. VB itself is aluminum, so it won't rust; it's internals are steel-so very light pressure with some 1200grit& ATF might work. My old race trans had a hemi drum that came from the junk-pile from a trans shop(worked great). Keep all the originals that you can. I'm sure more comments...
