Take your pulleys off. Set face down. Measure the height. Report back with your findings. W/p is 2.75 inch deep. Double bottom is 3 inch deep. I bet u have 69 and older small block pulleys. Kim
I would say something is wrong with the vb u have in there. Even with no kick down/throttle pressure hooked up it shouldn’t have fried the tranny that quick. What procedure did u use to set the bands? Did it seem to shift good? Or did it seem like something was dragging?
This is what I do to all my latest builds. But I can’t take credit for it. RAMM clued me in. Just make sure the hole intersects with the oil passage in the block. Of course this works as long as all other specs are in spec. To be clear just drill the rear side as that’s where the thrust is. Kim
Just use the case with the front half of the pump in it. Grease the bushing and the converter hub and u should be good to go. I would maybe use a Chevy bushing in the pump cause it’s a fair bit wider or put 2 bushings in one behind the other. That way the converter has more support. Kim
