    I have drilled the trust on 10 or so motors. I use a HV oil pump. Right around 70 lbs cold and 45 lbs hot. Thats with 10W30 oil. Kim

    I would say something is wrong with the vb u have in there. Even with no kick down/throttle pressure hooked up it shouldn’t have fried the tranny that quick. What procedure did u use to set the bands? Did it seem to shift good? Or did it seem like something was dragging?

    This is what I do to all my latest builds. But I can’t take credit for it. RAMM clued me in. Just make sure the hole intersects with the oil passage in the block. Of course this works as long as all other specs are in spec. To be clear just drill the rear side as that’s where the thrust is. Kim

    Just use the case with the front half of the pump in it. Grease the bushing and the converter hub and u should be good to go. I would maybe use a Chevy bushing in the pump cause it’s a fair bit wider or put 2 bushings in one behind the other. That way the converter has more support. Kim

    I had a 383 with 11.5-1 pistons and a .550 lift hyd cam. It has 60 psi when I cranked it by hand. I was just curious. After run in it had 200 psi. Kim

    Where to check transmission fluid

    There is a fill plug on the side of the tranny. Also the drain plug is on the bottom of the Tranny. Kim
