Converting 65 Plymouth to 70 drivetrain.

Your Belvedere still has the cable shift mechanism on the steering column. There are actually two cables operating your existing transmission. One for park and the other operating the valve body. That means there's a completely different mechanism involved where things attach to the...

    318A to 361B Engine Swap - ‘62 Dodge 440

Looks like we got things stirred up a bit over this subject. Now that we have enough info on your situation to be able to provide more relevant opinions, it seems you’re on the right track. Having the transmission changes things for the easier. I see no reason why you wouldn’t want to buy the...

Tapered Axle hub drum puller ?

This is one of those tools you're tempted to say 'I'll just wait for now". Then you find yourself working on a rear end wishing you'd not waited. How do I know this? I'd buy one, but get a heavy duty one and I'd recommend one with the T handle end that allows you to use a hammer. I bought one...

More Door To Two Door Post Car Conversion ...

Not a difficult conversion at all. Hardest part is finding the parts you need! The 2 dr door jamb and front qtr is the toughest to find. I ended up buying a rusty rusty 2 dr car to get the parts I needed. There are a number of things posted on line as already mentioned.

    318A to 361B Engine Swap - ‘62 Dodge 440

Mike is always a wealth of information with this sort of question. I'd thought of a couple other things that may be relevant. The 62 K member had a unique engine mount setup. In my experience the mounts and brackets required to accomplish this swap are a bit tough to find. Most of that vintage...

Another stupid "What's it worth" post

I’m reminded of the many times my wife would earnestly ask my opinion about something and then want to argue with me about the input I provided. I finally learned to stop falling into that black hole. It took too much energy. You should do what you’re comfortable with and enjoy the ride.

Another stupid "What's it worth" post

Being in Ohio and not knowing where the car came from originally I'm sure you realize rust is the big issue here. You mentioned pans, but the cowl is a problem on these and I've even seen some of these that have been sitting a long time have rust in the rear windshield channel. Sitting doesn't...

1965 belv dash gauge bezel screws ?

These are the ones that hold the overall housing in place. They go into the recessed holes, for example on the left side of the speedometer like in one of the 1st photos.

1965 belv dash gauge bezel screws ?

The dash screws are phillips head, but they're also an unusually thick, round head. I have some around here somewhere. I'll see if I can locate them and post a photo or two.

    The plucked chicken lives again.

Very nice! Don't think I've ever seen the rear trunk lid trim like yours has. Is that unique to Canadian built cars perhaps? Must be impossible to find if you didn't have it already. Congratulations and have fun!

Two more. All these are the front edge of the rear wheel well.

pics of 62 plymouth read quarter lips please..

Here are a few photos from 3 different 62's. You can see some subtle forming differences. I tried different cars to see if one of the colors might show contours better.

    '64 California Plates

I've sold a handful of black plates over the years on eBay and have found they move pretty quickly. Last set brought $75.00 and wasn't near as nice as yours. I don't have a good feel for what level of interest you'll find here. My guess is you'd do better on eBay because of a much wider audience.

I too envy you in that I'd like to own one so I could make the same mistake. All in all a good problem to have!

putting an LA small blok in a 64 Savoy?

Same problem here with big block stuff. $300 plus for a 10 1/2 clutch bellhousing seems the norm. $500 for a core 440 of questionable condition. I have to say your car is priced right and I don't know why it hasn't sold for you. I'm only 2 years younger than you and in the same boat. Even I've...

35 or is it 40 years in the Mopar hobby?

Great stories! 1963 for me. I was 13 and Dad bought a 63 Dodge wagon with a 361 in it. He put it in the garage up on blocks and had me paint the entire underside of the car with zinc chromate primer. It took me two days to complete it. I had that damn paint in my hair, ears, eyes, etc. Dad and I...

    Color question

Jim, I can tell you I have an original 65 Coronet 440 and the package tray is the darker turquoise, like the dash. It is darker than the turquoise on the seats. Hope this helps.

Steel deck lid for a 1963 Savoy. What years will interchange?

I've always been under the impression 65 would fit on 63. Have not tried it myself though. I too thought the 64's were different at the corners.

    Gas tank crapped out...nasty weekend

https://www.ebay.com/itm/174511856376? I'd seen this recently and was surprised because the wagon tanks have always been so hard to find. My understanding was the tank was the same through 65, but would want to confirm with the seller before spending that kind of money. I can't disagree with...
