I paid to have my 69 installed. Called a local company rather than one of the 'big name' outfits that come to you. I found out typically if they're mobile service, they don't want to do the gasket stuff.

Good assessment on parts value and a very good way to try and determine potential value. My only other thought is 'what Dana?'. If it's a b body rear end certainly your $2500 is correct. If it's a converted truck rear end, crudely narrowed or who knows what else, price could change appreciably...
