Agreed, it depends where you reverse light switch is. On AT column shift setup the reverse switch is on the column and as you pictured that would be appropriate. Stick the connectors in C & D and the wires then route down to the tranny located reverse switch on a 4 speed and I believe also...
they are out there....

I was just pondering a similar question when I was restoring my dash harness.

Agreed, my 3-speed wiper motor switch has a resistor hanging off the side of it and the 1969 'X matching wire harness ALSO has the resistance wire buried in the harness. What I don't know is if both the resistor on the 69 3-speed switch AND the resistor wire in the harness were BOTH used...

I'd love to see the...
I'm into a similar project, but looking to restore the dash harness. Most of my underhood stuff needs to be replaced.
This pix shows both a '68 and a '69 harness both from GTXs If you look closely both have a "fabric" tape wrapped portion near the bulkhead connector and the rest is wrapped...

I see a lot of conflicting info and offerings out there on fleabay for example.
So what is up...
LOL, yeah!
I've not gotten down to my pile of wires yet, but be sure you need to make it right as I will.
It's a huge undertaking, but maybe a car saving undertaking, rip ALL that shix out of there and and start from what you know is good, original, and not all hacked up.
Last time I did this...
