440 stock intake; whats the best carb choice .....

I grabbed power from the wiper motor circuit. Don't use the ballast resistor or ignition coil wires, it will mess with ignition power.

Single plane or dual plane with EFI?

Throttle body fuel Injection is still a wet manifold, just like a carb. It responds to low end throttle with dual plane manifolds. Straight runner intakes are best for dry systems like multiport sequential EFI. Watch Engine masters, they do a lot of testing and analysis. If you want high...

440 stock intake; whats the best carb choice .....

I'd go Edelbrock AVS2 model 1906. The AVS is the newer version of the Carter AVS carb Mopar used. I had a Street Avenger and fought that SOB for months. I've been doing carbs for 40+ years and that Holley made me go throttle body EFI. It's almost too tuneable. I always liked the AVS series...

    CARBURETOR OR FUEL INJECTION

Once you have a modern fuel injection system, you'll wonder why you waited. Edelbrock Proflow 4's are one of the best bang for buck IMHO. Tim

    Rich idle is killing me

David Vizard has a book on Holley carbs. I also have 40+ years working and carbs and still learned a lot from this book. Lots of theory and detail.

Got my Pro Flo 4 in.

My install is similar to Dennis, but I'm using the XT flavor. Here are a couple pics, but not my car. I'm still a month or so away from the install. I was told the version 4 basically used a better Bluetooth module. I went with the no tablet version, I have a couple Android ones laying...

    Fuel Injection

I had a carb on my 67 442. Every time it sat more then two weeks, I had to screw around to get it started and running. With FiTech, if the battery is up, it lites every time. Worth it for that alone, IMHO. I'm going Pro Flo 4 XT on the Charger, I like the tall plenum look, sequential FI with...

Got my Pro Flo 4 in.

Haven't had time to unbox it yet, family in town. Big old box. Label says Made in USA. Fine print says assembled in USA from foreign and domestic parts.. Wonder how Vic would feel about that. Anyway, the motor is apart for machine work, probably won't run until next year. Looking forward to it!

    EFI conversion reliability

I also have the FiTech 600HP unit on my 67 442. It's been 2+ years now and still working no issues. I agree, initial setup can take some time, but after that no worries. The base idle speed must be set by the idle screw low enough to let the Idle Air Control motor adjust it up to the desired...

Anyone using the edelbrock Pro Flo 3 or 4

This thread is the low deck 4150 type intake, I'm after info on the XT plenum style.

Anyone using the edelbrock Pro Flo 3 or 4

I'm looking at going to a sequential fuel injection system. The Edelbrock Pro Flo 3 and 4 use the tall plenum intake with direct runners to the intake ports. I like the looks but I'm not sure it'll fit under the hood of my 68 Charger. I'm running a 440 with stock heads. Any thoughts? This...

    FITECH fuel injection

The most important adjustment is the throttle stop setting. You have to read the TPS and idle air positions and adjust accordingly. The other stuff is pretty easy, unless you want to heavily customize it.

    FITECH fuel injection

I used the standard 600 HP unit on my last car. I used the Spectra EFI fuel tank from Rock Auto (pump and baffle included). I ran braided stainless and did a bunch of extra stuff. The car fired right off and has always run well. The handheld programmer draws power even with key off, so...
