When I replaced mine on my 70 the AMD patch panels had all the backside bracing stamped like the factory. I also ordered some from YO and they were front sheet metal patch only. About $100 price difference if I remember correctly.
I have cut multiple small squares of and old t shirt and stick in socket. You can tighten 3-4 bolts before cloth begins to tear. Get another small square piece and so on.
I was wondering the other day as I have to do the same to my car, how did the factory do it?? Like the painted bolts that...
When I did my one piece trunk pan I used Goodmark which was about half the price of AMD through Summit. It fit perfect with no problems. I figured once I cut the original metal out it didn't really matter which metal at that point, especially since it is covered by the trunk mat.
JMO......I think the VHT Hood Bumper & Trim is close. I think the ash tray front was originally suede finish like the top of the dash?? Maybe someone can confirm this.
I tried to re create the factory appearance and it looked like some kid with a spray bomb did a bad job of Graffiti. Cleaned it up with clean lines and immediately knew it looked better. But you do your car the way you want it
