    What ever route you go save the old parts, those cables are getting hard to find. The column will need a different shift bowl or just remove the arm. Sounds like originality is not a concern.

    That is a pretty tall intake, no way it would fit on my 68 R/R. I just ordered a Eddy TM7, one of the shorter single planes other than the Holley street dominator. How much room do you have from the pad to the hood?
