Is there a Fill neck like the charger or dose the fill hole sit behind the door? Not familiar the design but sounds like it may be tweaked a bit. A NOS tank from 72 has been around the block a time or two, shelf wear? Pic of offending hole and cap would help.
I am on my 3rd relay.pulled them apart and found rust inside. Looks like when I wash the car water is running down the cowl and saturating the relay. There is a vent covered by felt that will let water in. Maybe make a shield or wrap or reposition the relay. Yup China junk for sure.

FWIW if you are pulling the WP housing the front nipple has to come out to get the bolt out. I like the idea of cramming something in so it dont collapse. Then V-Grip pipe wrench cussing and blood are involved. Kinda like the newer quick connect coolant/fuel fittings. Used so factory Monkeys...
Got one from E-Bugger along with the dist and harness. So far so good, about 2500 miles so far. Will see how it dose on the trip to Reno and back for HAN.
