Kind of tempted to do a swap, pull the covers off mine and ship the frame to you and you ship yours to Me. Would be a PITA though and I am not one of those numbers guys but something to ponder.
My 68 has a 67 split bench frame and the covers fit. The stud holes through the floor are a bit narrower and needed to be redrilled and the hinge covers are different. So I would think the 67 covers would fit the 70 frame.
I dont care what you do water will get by the glass rubbers, they deflect it off the rear panels so they dont warp. Put some plastic sheeting on the panels also just punch holes where needed and 3m trim adhesive it to the body. Or dont wash it or drive in the rain. I usually dont wash but wipe...
When I was doing the system I got the 3 speakers that were touted as the ****. Yeah they fit well but both outers blew real quick. I have the recipt in the car file of who I got them from if You are interested. I to pitched the cores and the splitter box that attached to the top of the glove...
IIR when I did my 68 R/R ( looks similar ) I used something kin to a liscenes plate plastic push in for lack of a better description. They make different sizes for round or square holes.
We use Larrys interiors same guy on GYC. I think he uses SMS for his custom work. Great guy and meticulous, next time I see him will ask. I have allways had good luck with Legendary but who knows what can happen? Just stay far away from PUI.
Trying to think of whatyou are refering to. Do they hold the spacer to the stud that goes through the floor? If so ACE hardware has something that might work in their bolt bin section. Not 2in in diameter but should get the job done. Kind of like the retainers that GM used on rear brake drums so...
My 68 has the 3 speaker dash. I think Ranger is spot on about the 8 track. Per the 68 FSM there should be a crossover box also. Fader controll for 69s ?? Not shown in my manual. I used an AM only radio and did some creative wiring to get it to work with the crossover box. Sounds like a typical...
I have used both, like said hit and miss with PUI. Look for a sale at Classic, sometimes they have 20% off with free ship. Legendary is about as good as it gets.
I used PUI for the rear cargo area on my 67 Malibu wagon. After 6 months the backing curled and the vinyl came loose. Draw your own conclusions. On my 68 Runner I went Legendary all the way, their stuff is top notch and made in the USA. Ya pay your money and take your chances, sometimes twice.
