3 row champion in my 68 GTX,fixed non clutch fan and have about 3/4 to 1 inch of clearance,no shround and will idle all day and not overheat.Still running the stock 60 amp alt.
I am needing a Gates upper hose part number for a 68-70 b body useing a 26" Champion radiator.I punch in 68 and it shows a different number than a 69.What are you guys useing?

I agree but some like to retain the original look and those aluminum units are far from it.Classic Industries does sell some copper ones that are similar to OE in appearance but they are $400 clams.
Its a pain in the a$$ to repair.Looks to me that one is aged and you repair one spot and make it leak in another.Alot of times i will just eliminate a tube and solder it shut on the tank top and bottom.I use a small propane torch and it needs to be clean before you try it or the solder will just...
Took the truck on a 100 mile round trip last night to pick up a vintage sled with the plow removed,and no overheating issues.So not enough air flow with the plow on and i think it has the wrong shroud.It isnt tight to the radiator,has a 1/2" gap all the way around it.
Its fine with the blade off and just gets hot mainly traveling down the hwy.I can drop the blade so it just clears the road and the grille fully exposed and it still gets warm.Would it help to eliminnate the clutch fan and put a non clutch one on it?How does the clutch part work?Someone explain...
Been having some cooling issues while plowing snow.With the plow on going down the highway the temp keeps creeping up no mattter what position the plow is in.Do i need to add a electric fan?Or is there something i need to change with the clutch fan?Give me your thoughts.
