Need advise on manifold sealing INDY 440-3

I would test-fit the intake by only bolting it to one head and then you can feeler-check the top and bottom of the "open side". Take those figures and figure the angle. Cut the intake to the corresponding angle and then install it with a set of intake gaskets from Hughes Engines. They make a...

    head bolt help

The 7/16-14 inserts come in lengths of one times the diameter, 1185-7CN438, which in my opinion is not long enough for 90Lb/Ft. They also come 1-1/2 X diameter, 1185-7CN656, and 2 X the diameter, 1185-7CN875. I would use the longest insert if the hole is deep enough, and yes, I would borrow or...

    head bolt help

Make sure that you go to Helicoil site and check how long of an insert you need for that particular torque value! You can't just stick a short one in and go with it, especially in cast iron and aluminum. It'll last forever.

    Valve spring question

Take a few random springs out and check them for pressure @ installed height. Do four or five. If they're close, you're good to go!

    Piston to wall clearance

Ideally, 4.3500 would be the block bore. The clearance would be machined into the piston. Just do the math after you measure the piston.

Hard to believe the price difference

I would call Mancini on the phone and get them for that price if you can! I know some things are a challenge to find on Mancini's site, but dollars is dollars!

Hard to believe the price difference

I live two states over from Mancini and have been really impressed with how fast they ship! Most of their prices are right in line or better than alot of other vendors. Sometimes they ship free.

Alas, the only Turbo I've ever heard spooling up was on a Mack 300+ back in 1978!

max wedge and standard port intake gasket

I just put a set on my 440 with MW heads along with their flat valley pan and an INDY Dual plane intake. I bolted the intake to the passenger side head first and took a feeler check on the other head to check the gap and for checking parallel. The gaskets come in two different thicknesses! I...

Not a B body. But something to keep me busy

Very nice and at that price! Good luck with the project and keep the pic's coming! By the by, Mopar never made a Turbo 360. If it's an older 727, you'll want to upgrade to a newer one.

Crane 440 rocker arms - pushrod lenght

I just put a set on my 440. Changed them from Crane Iron rockers. They are in fact Ball/Cup. If your head and block was not cut excessively, I can go out tomorrow and measure one of mine and tell you what length they are? Also, I am using a 0.039 head gasket.
