Does anyone run stock valve covers on a 440 with Edelbrock heads and Hughes rockers?
I have some no name stamped valve covers that are slightly taller but they won't stop leaking. I think the shape is slightly off on them as all the gaskets I've tried never fit the corners very well.
I painted my engine and valve covers with Mopar brand turquoise paint which seems to be no longer sold/made. I am going to replace the valve covers with something that hopefully won't leak and was wondering if anyone has found a powder coat brand/colour that matches the Mopar rattle can.
Fighting leaking valve cover gaskets on my 440 with Edelbrock RPM heads. I have a solid flat tappet so need to remove them for periodic checks/adjustments and want to try a set of studs instead of bolts.
Does anyone know which ARP kit was the best fit for length etc? I have a set of stamped...
Just had a local guy rebuild my 727 to go behind my 99% street driven 440 With 520hp and 535 ftlbs as per the dyno.
He wants to sell me a converter he has. 245mm with billet back cover, furnace brazed with mechanical diode, low stall stator.
To be honest whats required in a performance...
Currently run the stock trans cooler hard lines on my 67' Belvedere with a 440. Problem is the long tube TTI headers occupy the same space and one line touches the header pipe. Not much room to route elsewhere I can see.
Does anyone have different routing pics for the cooler lines?
I've heard some guys run a solid engine mount on the drivers side with a rubber on the right and for the trans. It's claimed that the vibration isn't bad to negligible. My 440 sure dances on the rubber mounts I currently have.
Anyone have opinions on this?
Has anyone completed a conversion from an RB to a Gen 2 Hemi in a 67 B-body that has some real world costs associated with it?
My 440 is tired and like most Mopar guys owning a Hemi is one of those ultimate's. Not looking to do a numbers type swap and make it look 100% original sort of a day 2...
The 440 in my Belvedere is supposed to have been rebuilt low mileage etc etc.
When I got it it was running dual breathers into the air cleaner. I went back to a singal breather and PCV valve.
I've noticed it's always had visable smoke from the breather but latly I am getting some oil from...
My 440 was swapped into my car by the previous owner. It has a painted steel stock looking oil pan with no numbers stamped into it.
From pictures it looks identical to the 699/187 pans with the notch on one side.
The 440 came from a 73 Newport I am told and has a 72 build date on it...
Looking to put somthing better then stock for a harmonic balancer on my 440.
Main problem is it's a late 72 casting block that came from a 73' Newport I am told. I have confirmed the date.
Looking at the stock appearing balancer which is rather thin and doesnt seem to have any noticeable...
Wanting to check and reset the hydraulic flat tappet lifter preload in my 440.
Checking the Hughes info that I have as it's all their stuff.
Cam is an HEH2832bl
Hughes racing lifters
and CNC 1.5:1 rocker shafts
Also running aluminum heads which I am unsure if this will effect where my...
With the 255/60 R15 -BF says 26.8" dia.- on my belvedere and the 3.21 gears now in the rear I've been looking for a 32 tooth speedo gear.
Problem is the guys on ebay wont ship to Canada that have them and the transmision shops want $50 to $60 bucks for one. Is there a better place to look?
Currently on my 67 Belvedere with a 440 and Carter mech pump and edelbrock AVS carb I just have a chunk of rubber hose feeling the carb.
It works but I want somthing cleaner but with the heater core lines it's tough to stay away from them. Just wondering if anyone has some pics to show a...
I've always had green bearings so this is a little different for me. On my Belvedere it is still using the tapered axle bearings. I have been looking for the gaskets that go on the flanges for the bearing retainers. The parts stores tell me they dont exist and just use silicone.
Survey says?
I have some major driveability concerns with the Edelbrock AVS 800cfm on my 440.
First up the idle mixture screws seem to do nothing. Newer carb blew them out etc no change. I'm thinking to get a decent idle speed that the transfer slot may be exposed causeing it to pull fuel from there...
Just bought a 67 Belvedere with a 440 in it. It has an edelbrock carb and edelbrock rpm intake.
The car has a cheap chome air cleaner with a drop base that drops too much and causes it to hit the electric choke on the eddy so the P.O stacked about 4 air cleaner gaskets to make it clear...
