I bought a steering wheel for my 78 truck and it had a 39 tooth spline. My volumn is 36 tooth. Grrr. Does anyone know what years or models had a column with a 39 tooth spine?

I bought a steering wheel on eBay to replace the cracked one that I have. I “think” the shaft has a 36 tooth spline and the new wheel is a 39 tooth spline. So of course I can’t get it to go on. Could this be correct? Were there two different splines?

I have a pair of leaf springs. I believe they are B body. Can somebody verify just what they are please? One is a 5 leaf with the number 2539211. Not 100% certain on the 53, it's hard to read. The other one is a 6 leaf with the number 3400014. I'm fairly certain of those numbers.
