I'm friggin nervous here. The kids were off from school due to the snow, but I went back in to check the level of the car and tweak it if necessary.
The door sill is level with the 2' level. I check the bottom for rocker with a 4' level....again, level. The 4' level was just long enough to...
Sometimes I get a little annoyed about some less than positive insights on what I'm trying to do with the kids with this AWB project. Sometimes the comments are very positive and insightful, and appreciated. thanks. But I think I'll give a little insight on what I'm trying to do.
1) The...
Now that the car is all leveled, I'm getting ready to make the rear axle move "cuts". We are going to do ala'snoke method.
I'm trying to figure out EXACTLY where to cut across the trunk. I want to keep the stock gastank in its orig. position when done. the A body rear cut across the pan is...
I'm trying to level out the 65 Coronet for the AWB front and rear surgerys. I'm going to do the Snoke method rear wheel roll first.
I have multiple quality jack stands and shims and a level concrete floor. Yeah!
So far: I set 2 jack stands at the ends of the rear framerails and 2 at the...
I'm still trying to figure out how far to move the front axle on our 65 Coronet project car. This is being done by school kids and myself. I've never done this stuff before, so be fore warned! The rear? no problem acc. to Dale's video! We are looking at a full 15" move.
Up front: We have...
65 dr. HDTP Coronet w/440 - 727 Automatic. Will be running close to stock weight with a 10"/15" AWB mod.
The A100 HD axle I have will ge the Scarebird disk brake set-up. The spring that I have were off a 5500gwv A100, so the front leaf springs are 6 leaf, stock length.
Any idea; do I...
In doing an AWB on a 65 Coronet HT,
1) What is the position of the stock gas tank when done? Does it move forward and modify the filler tube OR, keep the stock location? any have picts?
2) If i don't do a full 10" move...maybe do 8"...is if possible to keep the back seat (diminshed...
Weare planning on using an A100 front straight axle in the 65 Coronet AWB project. I bought an axle set up for what I thought was a good price of $200.
It turns out there's alot of work ahead needed on the set up.
First suprise: Its a 5000 lb GVW A100, so the axle has 6 leaf springs and...
As you know, I'm general HS shop teacher, not a vocational one. I get 140 kids per year in my 6 classes that I teach. The skill level runs from not knowing how to read a ruler, to a few with mechanical aptitude, but no experience other than destroying a jeep or two in the woods. Me? a...
Looking at the photos of the "Jayhawker", it looks like the rear axle was moved forward, but the front remained stock position with leaf springs. I think I've seen picts with both a K frame....and leaf springs. Maybe it ran both ways???? Is that true?
If so, how much was the front moved...
65 Coronet; doing the "mopar" factory 65 front AWB conversion.
1) What is the best way to maintain the front inner shock mount alignment when moving them forward 10" on the new 2x3?
2) What is the wall thickness of the new 2x3 stock?
3) What is the best route to get the "longer"...
HAVE: 65 Coronet, 65 K frame, 65 4-spd. 69 440 with B/E 6qt. Mancini pan.
I'd rather leave on the 6 qt. b/E pan rather than install the "oh so hard to find" 65 RB pan. The engine was originally built to go in a 70 E body. The decision has only just been made to put it in the 65.
I...
Car: 65 Belvedere S6, 3 spd. manual on the tree. Everything workd perfectly...but the weezy 1 brl. S6 has a little trouble moving the beast around. Mileage is great! but, I'd like to be able to pull a small trailer with eventually...
I like the 3 spd. manual on the tree and would like to...
65 Belvedere, 1/2 horn ring. How do you remove the steering wheel?
I see no obvious way to remove the centercap to access the ring bolts.
The steering wheel is 1/3 of a turn off. very annoying. Tomorrow I'm going to check if the steering box is correct (same turns L and R)...if so. I...
So I have a 65 2dr. Coronet. Since the AWB is looking unlikely due to funds.... I'm thinking of the unthinkable. What would you think of a car at a show or cruise that had:
a shredded interior, crumbling dash primered fenders, a few rust holes in the qtrs and steel wheels with no hubcaps...
65 Belvedere. Does this look like an amature (being careful) could fix this?
If not....I'll post for replacement (65 Belvedere / Satellite). MInes a wagon, but I guess the front fenders are the same.
thanks.
Just thinking about a possible swap. I've got a 65 Belvedere with S6 / 3 spd on the column. What parts would I need to convert to v8 (SB or BB) with a 4 or 5 spd. tranny.
Parts that I have:
rebuilt 69 440. rebuilt 78 360. V8 Kframe. Full disk brake set up (slider type).
What do...
