I've had a few different things happen over the years, but this is a first. Car was running good, won first round and this kept me from going to round two.

Not a good start to my season...

Made my first pass, during shutdown I had a severe vibration in the drivetrain and broke the output shaft housing on my 727. I thought maybe I didn't get all the u joint retainers in good and a u joint moved, but that's not the case. The only time I've had this happen before is when a u joint...

New best, the inevitable = an upgrade needed

I haven't been on in quite awhile, last post was about going from an 850cfm to 1000cfm carb. Early in the year I made a gear change from 4.10 to 3.91 to bring trap rpm down and it did without performance loss. I was invited to a prepped TnT at our local track, I did a little tinkering and the...

Capacity limitations of Street Hemi oil pan?

I'm currently running an old Proform 7qt. pan that's seen some abuse over the last 25 years and I'm looking to replace it. I'm thinking about going to a St Hemi pan for more ground clearance. Would this pan be suitable, capacity wise? I'm running low 11s at around 6400 through the lights.

    Holley 4781/850 vs AED 1000HO

I have been running a Holley 4781(850) for years and thought about trying one of the AED 1000HO carbs. Anyone had any real world experience as to whether I would just be wasting my money? Street/strip 440 that runs consistent 11.30s

Canister HP oil filters for BB ?

I'm curious as to what brand filters some of you run, I have used K&N HP-3001 & FL1-HP. I'm also curious as to whether the Fram HP has the bad reputation that their std filters had. I have heard that the Wix HP is a good filter. I also wonder if there's actually that much difference in any of...

    When you're the only Mopar...

When you're the only Mopar that shows at the local heads up race, but you win 11.50 index. I had been working on my throttle stop adjustments the last two races. Yesterday with the weather we had, i had to back it off completely during time runs. Then the weather got cooler, ugh. Luck was on my...

    H vs X Pipe ?

This question has probably been asked before. On a 550 - 600hp street & strip car would there be any noticeable gain running an X pipe over an H pipe? I have neither right now, running 3" head pipes. Thoughts?

First time trying to run a 12.0 arm-drop street car race, on new M/T 275 DRs

Tried running a heads up 12.0 race tonight for kicks & to see how my car would hook on M/T ET Streets. First pass left without stabbing the throttle, shift early at 5800 & coasted thru to a 12.63 @ 86.19 ... oops, let off too much. Second pass left about the same, shift the same rpm, lift at the...

Pump gas for Street/Strip cars ... ethanol content

Just curious as to what some of you are running & alcohol content where you are. My car has a dynamic compression ratio low enough i can run 92/93 octane. Around here i can get Sunoco(currently using) or Shell without having to drive more than 15 miles.
