Had to change the pick up on this as the wires were mouse eaten. Now the rotor will turn almost 1/4 turn back and forth without moving the shaft. I don't think that is the way it was before I got my hands in the mix. I don't know if I dropped a spring or something else but I has to be pretty...
Little tired and a little frustrated. This was a running motor before tear down. Went to set the intake on tonight and it doesn't match up with the gasket or the openings/ports. It is probably something supper simple but I am putting too many hours in on this and not seeing everything clearly...
1973 340 stock intake manifold orifices. I have cleaned this intake and the orifices so they will work as Ma Mopar intended. Having done that, I am really wanting to just pull the orifices and plug them off. Any GREAT reason why I should not do this?
This is the damper on a 73' 340 engine. My question is: Just how much can be worn before it needs to be replaced. Looks like just the outer edge about a 1/4 of the way around, but some of you out there know these engines inside and out and can give an educated answer. Thanks in advance.
I thought the whole idea of welding the heat riser open was to do it in the "fully" open position. Any reason someone would do it like this other than they didn't realize it was partially closed. Thanks in advance.
On a stock 1973 340, with factory manifolds, does anyone remember the pipe size. I was thinking it was 2" but I can't remember for sure. Too far from home to check the books. Thanks

I have a basket case '73 RR 340 and the cam (and everything else) is in a milk crate(s).
As I was cleaning the cam, I didn't find any ID numbers in it. Are they any marks, numbers,
etc. that will tell me if the cam is the original? It is a numbers matching car but I don't know
