I am going to use a set of MP SS Springs on my '63 build. I have measured, and compared with the originals, and a set of '65 B-Body originals. We also have an A-Body in our fleet, that we did a few years back. By my inspection, it appears the A-body springs match up to the original '63 springs, both in length, and axle placement. I have to go through some old receipts to get the correct part #'s we ordered for the Duster, but can anybody confirm this is the correct spring to use ? Looking at what is available from MP, I see the A-Body, 2800 lbs set, part #'s P4120863 & -864, and the 1968 Hemi SS A-Body, 3000-3200 lbs, part #'s P3412002 & 003. I plan to keep all the spring locations, stock brackets & hangers as original. I'm not in a hurry to order these, so what ever feedback you have, I will be interested in...Thanks

Interesting. I don't know your answer, but I do know that my '70 b-body super stocks are a-body length and require longer front spring shackles. If your measurements are correct, it "sounds" like you wouldn't need the longer front shackles when using b-body SS springs.

Depends on what you're using the car for. A stripped down racer would use the 3400 lb springs or less. I used the 3800 lb springs on my 65 Belvedere because I have a full interior with backseat and spare tire and jack etc. in the trunk. With extended front hangers. Summit lists all these springs separately.

'63 springs are the same length as a-bodies. 20" front segment.

I would buy anyone but MP's junk. The "Hencho in Mexico" springs worked great for the 1st half of the season then they started losing arch and flattening out. I had the 456/457 springs. Did a best 60 ft. of 1.54 when they were working..

From memory...
1962 to 63 B Bodies have a 20" front segment and work with stock front hangers. All other B Bodies will need longer front hangers.
All A Bodies have 20" front segement and these springs bolt right up.

I have the 456/457 springs on both my 62 Belvedere and 69 GTX. 3400lb rating for both. My 62 is about 1.5" raked forward. To be determined on the X as it doesn't have a motor yet.

Edit: Found the chart...

Threewood, can you post a side pic of your 62? I've got same springs I'm about to put under my 62.

Mr. b, What rear axle do you have in your Fury, and how big of a tire can you fit without any interference ? I am planning on running a set of Pie-Crust slicks in mine, and still need to come up with the axle package for it. I want to leave enough spacing, as the car will see street time...Thanks

hay VANDAN I have a 65 b body 8.75 housing with 410 gears sure grip the wheel and tire is Keystone Klassic with 4 inch back space tire is 275 60 15

Thanks for that info. I have a '65, 8.75 available, although I am thinking Dana. Did you need to alter the 8.75 to fit the '63, or was it a clean swap ? I sold the original '63 tapered axle when I had the chance, so I have nothing right now to match it to, other than a few dimensions I took.
