Hey guys, economy has finally hit a little closer to home than would like and thinking about selling off some of my extra stuff and trying to get a close estimate of what some early b stuff might be worth....or even worth putting up for sale.

I have a 12/24/63 cast street wedge block marked V42 HP and a full set of original pistons. Block is bare standard bore block in beautiful condition casting number 2205697. Only one problem with block and it pisses me off. Prior owner ground down last 4 on casting number trying to pass off as max wedge. Can still somewhat see numbers but ground down nonetheless. But otherwise is original pad stamped 426 street wedge AAQA block. Pistons are factory 426 standard bore pistons full set of 8.

I bought originally to use in 63 project and didnt really care about casting numbers and didnt really expect to have to sell but....things change and if worth it might have to put for sale.

I gotcha...:toothy12: When I first picked up these engines/blocks it really confused me too.

With both using same casting I always asked the question....why did they use so many casting numbers for 426 wedges and I guess these were cast really thick for dual usage?

Just started reading this after it was posted almost a half a year ago...

I had a 1852029 V41 AAQA 413 from a truck with the funky 8-bolt crank flange and still in my possession are a 2532230 A426 wedge (shown as 2432230 in the above list) bare block and the 2658836 G413 truck engine in my 68 Satellite. That last engine is also listed as a 426 "truck" engine. It has the additional strengthening ribs on the sides of the block. As these take up much of the space, no room was left for the casting number. This is now located behind the oil pressure sending unit, near the bell housing mounting flange. From an administrative point of view this engine was cast as a 426, but with a "detuned" displacement of the 413 to get more rigid cylinder walls. Perhaps this is also the case for some of the engines cast with the numbers from 6t4polara's list.

I know that some 361 truck engines were cast as 383s and coincidentally also with the AAQA letters cast into them on the front of the engine.

If i wanted to make a 426 out of a bored .060 413 for myself, what would i stamp on the flat spot?
