I happened on to a 64 fury 2dr hardtop that is for sale. It is a 29,000 mile Arizona car that had been in a accident (Right front - will need to replace the inner fendor, etc, and some right side cowl repair). Frame looks good. They want $4500 for this car, a 64 fury 4dr parts (California) car, and a 64 413 engine and transmission (will need an overhaul, I suspect). I don't think the 413 was an option for 64 plymouths.
Both of the cars have been in Michigan for probably 20 years, the 2dr inside, the 4dr outside.
Do you think this is a good deal?

Pictures would help.Imo, 413s arent worth building. Pistons are harder to get and you still have an engine that's just as expensive as a 440 but less hp. N

Despite the engine, both cars for that price is good. use the 4dr to replace what the 2dr needs as everything from the front doors to the bumper will fit.

Check out the floors and the spots that typically rust through. If it's pretty solid that's a step in the right direction. X2 on the 413, hard to get pistons for. If the bores aren't that worn maybe you can get by with a hone and new rings and bearings. Good luck.

You can bore that 413 60 over and use 426 wedge pistons in it... It would then be a 426... Just a thought...
