Just set up new carburetor and intake. It's idling crazy high. Did I hook something up wrong? See below.

Video.

Did you install the pipe plug at the rear of the carb? Are the curb/fast idle screws backed out? Is the nut/screw at the front of the kickdown arm preventing it from returning to curb idle? Also, the kickdown rod should be properly adjusted. The carb pin in the slot should be at the rear so that the carb and kickdown reach maximum travel simultaneously. Use a return spring as well. You can damage the trans with insufficient throttle pressure.

What is that shinny screw and nut in the downshift linkage ? Looks like the transmission downshift linkage may be pulling the on the throttle. Believe that you are missing a spring also. That small forward hole on tranny downshift flat is for a spring similar to throttle linkage.
Remove the shinny screw and nut for openers, or temporarily disconnect the downshift linkage and see if that is what the problem is. There is also a high idle adjustment on these Edelbrocks as well.

I guess I'm slightly confused as to what you mean when you say the carb pin should be at the rear? Do I need a new throttle bracket? And where should the spring be pulling the linkage, towards the front of the car? I look this up online and I see many different setups so I'm unsure. I apologize for the ignorance.

Do I need very specific springs or are these things I can get easily at any auto store?

There's a fast idle screw on the cam for the choke. When the choke is closed you set the idle just enough so it doesn't load up.

Is your choke opening as it warms up?

Adjusted the linkage. Is the gas pedal linkage supposed to operate like this? Doesn't feel like there's a ton of pressure when I press down on it. The cable is fully extended.

Also I've been adjusting idle screws for an hour. I can't get it to operate at a normal idle for more than like 2 seconds before it ramps up hard and fast like it does in the video.

Just got it idling fine! But the gas pedal linkage is still an issue I think. If I press, it ramps hard and then I have to manually reach down and pull it up to get it down to low rpm.

From that top view picture last posted, it would appear that your transmission shift linkage arm is bent and likely binding on the pin from the carb linkage. And, due to different physical distances because of manifold swap likely not in proper adjustment. That's my guess..
There is a proper tension spring for pulling on the throttle linkage and a proper tension spring for the transmission linkage. Don't know what you have or may installed beyond stock springs..

Yeah the springs that I have were installed on the last carburetor and return spring bracket... it seems as though they aren't sufficient anymore.

One other thing to consider is that your cable clamp bracket arm places the cable inboard more than mine for example. It should be more in line and not offset which could cause some binding issues.

Agree with Turbine. Your throttle cable bracket needs to be inline with the carburetor attachment point. Straight shot with no binding.

Ps, please hold your phone horizontally when videoing.
